Cisse a risk for remainder of season?

The Chronicle is reporting that Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse could miss the remainder of the season with a rib injury.


The newspaper claims the Senaglese striker sustained a cracked rib in the Europa League quarter-final clash with Benfica, and the injury has worsened in recent games against Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion.

But the club posted pictures of Cisse training this morning on the official website.

Cisse has scored 13 goals in all competitions this season, and his absence could leave Newcastle with just one established first team striker – Shola Ameobi.

United currently lie six points from the relegation zone with four games left to play

This was getting beyond a joke a while ago.

Now It's ridiculous. There needs to be something done about this. Surely it can't just all be bad luck.

Ah well it'll have to be Le Gouf through the middle. We can't play Shola. It'll hurt like some sick form of chinese torture.

 

The only thing Shola should be used for is carrying the bags into the dressing room at matches.......

 

Or Ben Arfa has played there. Don't forget any team line-up HAS to include Jonas. It's a commandment, I think.

To be fair the only reason we might stay up is not our results but how other team get on thanks to clueless pardew

 

This isn't good news. If its a broken rib picked up in a match though then this one can't be put down to training methods or facilities - just very bad luck!

If he can play in the protective vest to a decent standard then I think we have to use him at least as a sub, perhaps bringing him on when the defences are tired. If we di end up using Shola then I don't see how we could avoid playing 4-4-2. Shola isn't a lone striker and never has been. He can be good at holding the ball up and laying it off to someone like Ben Arfa.

How other teams get on is now down to clueless Pardew ? How does that work ?

 

If Shola plays in the last few games we don't have a ****ing chance. Christ play Adam Campbell upfront. If Pardew comes out with 'We have gone with Shola - he has the experience' I think I may **** blood in hatred.

Shola is complete **** at the best of times and this season he has just been beyond the pale in ****ness. I agree with Tash formation of Marv-Gouffran-Ben Arfa. Anything is better than Shola. He shouldn't even be a ****ing option anymore

The way he has 'played' this season surely to Christ he cannot get another contract when this comes to a close? I don't care about him being a nice guy. The loyalty thing is aload of **** as well - why would he risk his meal ticket? 12 long and wretched years he has been here because:

1/ He has somehow survived countless mangerial regimes

2/ No other ****er wants him (was at loan to Ipswich I think then failed a medical at Stoke)
