Right the Chairman has come to you and said "I need to buy Chris a Christmas present but not sure what he wants? It can be team related or private and money is no object" So what do you tell him to buy? AllHell
A proper nice beige mac to go with his suits. They're very in this season and I think it would perfectly complement and indeed complete his style. I'm thinking the Baracuta Ramsey Mac (named after the Sir Alf and not the 1920's Labour Leader) as worn by the England squad in '66. It is pricey yes but it is also timeless so it will last next year too! please log in to view this image
A life-size jack-in-the-box to do the tunnel-jumps. CP shouldn't be left with this task but none of the players seem to want to do it.
Not a prezzie for Chris, but for the fans - A decent coffee machine for the West Upper kiosk (nearest the away end). The stuff they serve up in there is no better than hot mud. Colombian or Ethiopian beans would be nice!
Was Jeff Vetere our chief scout? The write up about his departure was ominously short. I wonder what happened. I'd like to see a youngish (under 23) goalscorer to come in as cover for Bradley. No idea who though. To find that one out, we might need a new chief scout actually...
I thought about Clarke- but whilst he has scored a few this season, he is generally a target man too. I notice will Hoskins hasn't played much for Brighton- well worth a phone call. Another shout could be lee Barnard, but think he may be injured?
he's prob a better target man than hayes and benson cos he has scored a few. could also use him as a battering ram supersub type if we're ever loosing/drawing away from home on a cold tuesday night
Leon Clarke is an absolute twat so a big no from me. He's not very good either. Someone in the mould of Stuart Fleetwood (I.e a young quick goalscorer from the lower leagues who wouldn't be too annoyed settling for being back-up). As for a Christmas present, how much is he willing to spend? Would Lionel Messi cost a bit much? If so leather seats at the Valley please even if I do only sit down at half time
The skip said to me he will do it once he makes 100 appearances! He said I had an exclusive on that too.
I've discussed this at length with my colleagues at Charlton Live, and we believe the reason for the quiet could be something legal. Sure it will on come out in good time.
Vetere was often referred to as a ''rolling stone''. Never seems to settle in one place for too long. As long as he left his contact book, then no problem
If we wanted to have a look at trying for a better Stuart Fleetwood why not take a look @ Jamie Vardy of Fleetwood Town. Has being scoring for fun in the Conference, caused Yeovil quite a few problems on Tuesday night rounding off his performance with a neat lil goal
