I know a few people have had a few issues lately, in and out of hospital and the like. I hope everyone here has a nice, healthy Christmas and can be with all of their family . Even that bloody gashead that hovers around here too.
takes me back to the late 60's when I first became friends with Pete … lead singer for the rebels, I used to do the stage hand stuff at the Ritz now "proper job" . manager was Jack Day and he put a lot of groups on the stage and launched the odd career for some! another that comes to mind is Danny Clark and the Jaguar's long time ago but think the Piltdown men also played there one Sunday afternoon. He had a good thing going he also had the cinema in keynsham … and they hardly ever showed the same films so nearest opposition was Bath or Knowle. Indeed best health for all hopefully AT LEAST 2 OF US will get to have a summer in 2020 and not spend it in a foreign hospital or learning to walk again! Merry Christmas and Special wishes and thoughts go out to Benik and Family
I work at Southernprint in Poole, as from January 2nd I'm being made redundant as the group I work for have decided to close the business.
I live in Dorchester, at least I won't have that terrible drive between Bere Regis and Bakers Arms @ 5.30 am
Really sorry to hear that Massive, and as AshtonRed says, especially at this time of the year. Hope something new comes your way asap
I had quite a few redundancies until 2000 heading for a pension! when I went self employed in transport [ as a courier ] best of luck sad peeps get told before Christmas … some employers think it best that way as the employee doesn't overspend!
I've just seen this mate and am sorry to read it, bad time of the year, it happened to me a couple of time over the years, it's worrying, a shock to the system and it hurts, have faith in yourself and good luck finding employment quickly.
thanks Wiz, the printing industry isn't what it used to be, I've been in the trade around 37 years and never been unemployed, I haven't a clue what happens next!
At what stage are you officially out of work from January serving the 90 days being told it starts [90 days ] in Jan first thing in any case is to sign on and it is their responsibility to tell you ALL of what you are entitled to [ bit different from my first redundancy nowadays] but took them to court because they only paid me for monies I claimed THERE WAS ANOTHER SUM I should have been entitled to .. they would only cater for what an individual asked for .. I won ...it set a precedent against them and they had to pay out £983 in 1982 that was a lot of money. Any probs still have the paper work somewhere and you would be welcome to it [ copy ]
