Is anyone else a little worried about how many players are above Chris Wood in the pecking order? I cant help but feel that some games we are screaming out for a big lad to offer a physical threat like Wood but he cant seem to do anything to get on the pitch.

He has more of a future here than Phillips and even though Phillips has a role to play here, i would rather bring on Wood than i would Phillips if there is still around 30 mins to go.

He hasnt really done much to warrant a start though. Should anything happen to Nuge or Vardy early in a match then he will be on as we can only get 20-30 mins out of Phillips

I would agree with you about his height, but whenever ive seen him play that kind of long ball role, he wimps out of going for headers.

Hes not "Steve Howard good" at dominating a defence aerially and is easily bullied.

His finishing is still pretty good from what i remember and would fill in well if Vardy or Nuge got injured, but hes not an impact sub for me.

TBF you say that but our conversion rate is probably the weakest link in the team, I would like him to get a start over nuge if nothing more than intensifying the competition for starting places. The prospect of a vardy-wood partnership is quite appetising to me if im honest they would definately compliment each others' style. The only reason I can see that Nige sticks with nuge is the deeper role he can play in our system.

Spot on ... just before half-time last night we'd only got 25% of our efforts on target contrasted with 50% for Forest ... 3 out of 12 versus 5 from 10 ... that's been rather typical of our season ... although still phenomenal overall ...

I think Wood, Phillips and King are the 3 most clinical players on our books

In the past 2-3 months Vardy now really believes in his own ability. He is getting better every week
