With the news that Beckford's loan at Huddersfield has been extended until the end of the season there is rumour going around that we have done a deal with WBA for Chris Wood. Stringer tweeted this @StringerSport So Beckford extends his loan at Huddersfield until the end of season. I'd imagine that means a new frontman deal has been done - Wood And the word from some of the WBA fans is we have agreed a deal for 1.75M
I'm starting to hear word that we've made moves to sign Wood. He'd be an excellent addition IMO. Would be a coup too. Everyone who can afford him in the Championship are after his signature. Surprised some of the lower PL teams aren't keep at 1-2m. He's stil very young.
We know where he'll end up if he has discussions with Bruce and Pearson. Chris Wood - Welcome to the KC.
Again Charles we couldnt give a toss In case you havent realised the rumours says Wood coming here is a done deal. We not discussing whos after him
He would be a great signing who ever gets him. I have no idea who it will be. Good to see the Millwall fans have all gone quiet now the millwall express has come off the line
Don't worry, Lesster fans, If he signs for you it will just be a victory of short term greed over ambition, just like all the rest of your failure signings. A team of whores. He's not our top target whoever he signs for.
He'll be a reasonable buy for a championship club, but WBA selling him shows he's probably not right for a club with Premiership in mind.
To me it shows he's not right for a club with Europe in mind. Poor. What happens if he signs for you? I guarantee it'd be similar wages.
You could be right, I can't say he's caught my imagination enough to follow it too closely. Are Prem club in for him then?
Right before this goes off rails again. This is a Chris Wood going to Leicester City thread I couldnt give a **** about if Hull want him or not etc. I think Wood and Nugent would be very good for us and it would allow Nigel to be more flexable with the formations as we could have Waggy playing up top aswell as a front 3 or just behind them in the Knockaert role
Not as far as I know, 1.5m is a bit steep for someone who isn't desperate for promotion. Especially when he's apparently got 6 months left on his contract.
Sorry, I thought I'd best bump the question back up in case it get lost in the previous two off topic posts.
WBA would be due compensation if he left on a free in the summer thats why they are after a decent fee
I'd have thought £1.5 mill was peanuts for a prem club fighting relegation though. Are his wages high?
Nothing above average. Is there anyone really desperate for a striker, though? Can't think of anyone who would be desperate, and if anyone was, they'd be after players like Austin.
Ah you see the transfer window doesn't open until 1st January so unfortunately he will miss our trip to the KC this season. Shame!
Proud's favourite ITK has posted a photo of a conversation between him and John Percy (who seems to be spot on with everything involved with City). please log in to view this image Wall fans would be gutted but it's the exact player we need!
And I thought that Leicester had hit the buffers too, if its true can Pearson work the magic of Kenny Jackett or will it be the usual millions spent and nothing to show for it
