Hopefully he does well there. Was excellent in 09-10 and then just seemed to switch completely. I guess he never really felt wanted by Paulo or Sven.

    And crosses.

    But yeah, your point stands.

Hes a solid goalkeeper but he's a confidence player and that was shattered when Sven dropped him.

Remember Sheffield United away? I think that was his last start for us in a league game.

He absolutely bossed it and we won 1-0.

In his first year apart from that mistake at Derby he didnt put a foot wrong all season. Nigel had alot of confidence in him and Weale repaid it. Even being linked with Tottenham at one point

Since Sven dropped him for any idiot he could find Weale went down hill

To easily beaten from distance, the mistake at Forest and when Kasper got sent off at Forest he came out for a cross and got nowhere near it and lost us 2 points

He is a decent keeper but nowhere near the standard of Schmeichel. Im surprised a bigger team didnt come in for him.

One thing he did say was he had the chance to stay here but he didnt want to sit on the bench

Nige really does stand by the players he signs, even if they were from his first term here!

I think Weale is a confidence player, a lot like Fryatt. When we were doing well, they did well, but both seemed to lose their way when Nige left. Obviously Sven wasn't much of a motivator, as replacing Weale was virtually the first thing he did, and Fryatt clearly wanted more Nige love and left at the firs opportunity.

If Weale gets a good run in goal at Shrewsbury, and gets a supporting arm around him, he'll do well and will attract the attention of bigger clubs again but, for the moment, I think it's the right move.
