β Brighton complete deal for Bernardo Quick links Hibernian League One Scottish Premiership Chris Sutton believes Dylan McGeouch's Sunderland move is a step backwards Will Butcher @willbutcher8 7 hours ago McGeouch has left Hibernian to join Sunderland on a free transfer. please log in to view this image Chris Sutton has ruined Sunderland on Twitter by describing Dylan McGeouch's transfer from Scottish Premiership outfit Hibernian to the Stadium of Light as a "move backwards". McGeouch, 25, has joined Jack Ross' new side after his contract at Easter Road expired at the end of the 2017-18 season, allowing the former St. Mirren manager to sign the Scotland international for nothing. League One Sunderland confirmed they had completed the signing of McGeouch on Monday afternoon, posting the announcement on Twitter. The former Celtic ace had reportedly drawn interest from the likes of Scottish Premiership giants Rangers, with the Northern Echo reporting that Steven Gerrard's side had made a lucrative offer for McGeouch. Instead, McGeouch has opted to move down south to Wearside and help Ross and Sunderland in their bid to return to the Championship after two successive relegations, and Sutton believes that it is a step backwards for McGeouch. Can Sunderland really compete with Celtic for midfielder? McGeouch was one of the Scottish Premiership's best central midfielders last season, making 31 appearances for Neil Lennon's side in the league and helping Hibs to finish in a more than respectable fourth place.
If the comment was made by someone who had any credibility whatsoever I would be annoyed But it was made by Chris Sutton, so its OK
Chris Sutton seems to have an issue with us. He's a dick. However, on the BBC sport Uruguay v France commentary he did just say that Uruguay need some bite up front.
Final Score: Pathetic Sunderland like a pub team - Chris Sutton - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/31892158 https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spo...at-attactive-sunderland-chris-sutton-13199358
I was at that Villa game. It was the game my pal was kicked out and plastered all over the media for hounding poyet. Pub team is a ****ing compliment. Worst I have ever seen us play.
Ha maybe he regards the scottish league as a big league as he had most of his success at Celtic, and he's veinly trying to cling on to the fact that he was a good striker there. Remember your spell at Chelsea, Chris - you were God awful when you tried to come back to a BIG league.
On the plus side im looking forward to watching Mcdoodle, or whatever he's called, play. This isnt the first time that ive read positive things about him. His position's a converted attacking mid to a deep lying playmaker, apparently.
Yeah but hes a kunt for telling us all on national Tv and press what we already know. As far as Mcdoodles concerned, he may be too good for league 1(time will tell), but hes certainly not too good for a club of our calibre.
Heβs had issues with us long before it went this bad. No idea why but he seems to have a deep lying hatred fir us. Maybe a Mackem shagged his lass
Don't know mate,me and the wife popped into St. luke's road in 2010 for pie and pea's (nee pea's left said the young lass) gutted we were.
I think that Sutton considers himself to be a skilled Pundit and probably wonders why he doesn't attract more work in that field. However he is labouring under the misapprehension that being controversial is good. It's not. Particularly when it's spread so wide. He can't seen to get it that us Fans identify with our Team. So insult my Team and he insults me/us. This does tend to turn me against him. Since the idiot insults just about everybody, he is left with a very small group of admirers. He could learn a lot from Alan Shearer, but he failed to learn much from him as a player so it is unlikely that he will pick much up from Shearers punditry work. Shearer manages to be honest and keep his personal feelings out of his professional outpourings. At the same time he calls it as it is.
