Been some truly amazing and inspirational sporting achievements - the GB win yesterday in Wheelchair Rugby / Murderball (amongst many) was gripping your seat stuff.
showed this to my 3 year old when she fell off her scooter yesterday, didnt inspire her, just kept crying.
I don't know who cried more, me or Ellie. That video should be shown to all school kids (disabled or not) to show what can be achieved if you put your mind to it. It should also be shown in prison's to help inspire some of the inmates to turn their lives around.
Thanks for sharing this Dennis. I must admit I was on a downer but after seeing that, me and my daughter are joining a gym together to motivate each other. She suffers from mental health so it's a win win situation. This is what I love about this site, one little gem can change lives. Top man Dennis.
Sad to hear you’ve been on a downer and your daughter has mental health issues, but great to hear your joining a gym. That certainly won’t do any harm and could do the world of good. One of my daughters has had mental health issues for years, mainly depression, and is up and down. She periodically joins me for exercise, and that tends to be times when she’s in a good place. Funnily enough she suggested last week we started going to the gym together so we’ll do that as long as she wants to. Hope it goes well for you both, and glad that short video hit a nerve in a good way. Look after yourself
Thanks for your kind words Dennis. Sorry to hear about your daughter and her depression. Sounds very much like my daughter to be honest. All we can do as parents is support them and just hope the depression reduces. My daughter has made giant steps forward in the last two years. She had a shopping/buying problem which happened when she was depressed. We started going through her stuff and we could have opened a store with all that she had collected. That has all stopped and she started saving her money. An unbelievable transformation. In the last month just by cycling and walking she has lost half a stone. Anyway, I'm rambling on. Good luck at the gym mate. Take care
