It's time we stopped ****ing around with defence in my opinion. A striker is obviously a must in the summer, but a centre back has to be high on the list as well. Since I've been old enough to understand football our defence has been terrible.

Campbell was awful against Stoke, and it's inconceivable for me that he might get his contract renewed. His departure would leave us with three first team centre backs. Coloccini has been immense in the second half of the season, but while Taylor and Williamson are both decent I think we need to look for a high quality partner for Colo.

Samba has been a rock for Blackburn since signing for them four years ago, he's captained the side which shows he has the leadership which our defence has lacked since Woodgate was sold, and he plays on the right half of defence which means he'd be perfect for Colo. And at 27 (next week) he still has some of his best years ahead of him.

He handed in a transfer request when Allardyce was sacked which was later retracted, but I still think he'd welcome a move in the summer.

  2. I've been saying this for weeks, where have you been?

I've mentioned all these exact points in previous articles..

It's hard to take on board everything you write mate. <whistle>

His name has come up once twice, just wondering what the general feeling was.

He is a terrific player and would be a great partner for Colo

I have a feeling Blackburn could get relegated, they have been very poor recently, so we could get him on the cheap if that happens. Also Coloccini's weakness, big physical strikers, is Samba's strength, so they could compliment each other well!

When I saw this article I was going to say Tash has been saying the same thing <yikes>!

He is a good shout, both Tash & AG <ok>. Would love to have him partner Colo at the back, but I cant help but think if he was to leave Blackburn he would have plenty of offers elsewhere. Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal? Could all be interested in signing him. Offer Blackburn Willo as part of the deal so they might accept our bid and not others? Who knows <ok>.

Would be an absolutely terrific signing though, and with a name like Samba things couldnt go wrong!

Oh AG, do you mean to say you don't read and memorise every word that BT say's in all his articles? How dare you? How double dare you?

On the Samba front though, he did have a blinder against us and would be worth looking into if his salary demands weren't too high.

I've been impressed with what I've seen. I don't think we should be going for him though, doesn't he play left back? I'd rather be using Kadar and Ferguson as cover for Enrique, and if Enrique went I'd rather sign someone with a bit more experience than Hoilett.

Hmmm someones got a dream about Colo playing upfront. Another centre back, Samba, gets thrown up front when things Blackburn are losing.

    I smell a conspiracy here :emoticon-0112-wonde

He's not a full-back, he's a winger/forward. I'll definitely take Samba and Hoilett in a snap! Think we need Samba more, Hoilett depending on the transfer fee.

How old is he? Young enough there'd be a compensation fee?

Samba is one of the better CB's in the league in my eyes and I dont see how Blackburn have managed to keep a hold of him.

I would love him here and he would improve the defense, but I could see someone like spurs snapping him up since Gallas is getting on and they need a reliable partner for Dawson.
