Audio Interview with Chris Powell has been added to the CAFC Player few comments brought up.

Jason Euell invited to play due to a few knocks to people like Cedric Evina to help him with his fitness (after the match report yesterday I wouldnt mind him as our 4th Striker for next season)

The main comment though was on Paul Benson when asked if anyone else would go along with Benno, CP turned round and asked if Benno would actually be leaving.

Apparantly by the sound of things CP has said to Benson he cant offer him a long deal due to his age so its his decision, does Benson want a long deal (if yes he goes to Notts County) or he can remain with us (if yes he stays)

Heard that so i`d say in reality he`s going..he needs to safeguard his future, unless county only offer him a year then he`ll stay.

I suppose he is 31 approaching 32 in October and if not a 1st choice striker can understand only offering him a 1 year deal at a time.

He may as well stay cos if the worst for him does happen and we release him next summer especially if promoted, chances are Dagenham would have him back in an instant rather than messing about going up to Notts County

I think for anyone to offer a Contract longer than 1 year to a 30+ player is pretty rare these days though.

They don't call Martin Allen "mad dog" for no reason!

Barring keepers, of course - but even so, I thought the five year deal that Shay Given got last week was extraordinary.

...and I'm pretty relaxed about the deal falling through, as well.

    IMO, we need this bloke.

Strange that SkySports says "The 31 year old was happy with the move" yet Personal Terms couldnt be agreed.

Maybe County wouldnt offer longer than a year either

If he had been offered two years, he would have scarpered.

To suggest that we NEED him, is folly of the highest order.

But as he is staying, I will get behind him 110%.

Right- trying to remember Benno's goals from last season, so might need help with this.

My main point is, his goals from what I remember where all based on service/crosses in to the box.

MK Dons at home- cross from deep and he gets a touch.
Colu Away- cross in and beautiful bicycle kick.
Carlisle away(2nd goal)- from a corner.

He can't do what BWP does, and turn 20 yards out and finish. He is a player who thrives on being in the right place at the right time. For that you need creative figures around you pulling the strings- which we lacked last year. Now we have Green, Stephens and Alonso + Hollands for inswinging FK's and corners... think he has the potential to double his tally from last season, dependent on game time.

    Agree with that, SC.

Oz - this bloke was tremendous for Brentford - IMO this would be a real coup.
