Heres one for you. C.Martin may not have been in Lamberts plans, but would you say this could be a chance for him to re-ignite his career under a nw manager? The guy can be pure class, he's had his ups and downs, but he could work very well I think. Local lad, hero potential? Bad boy come good? Certainly worth considering I'd say. If he were a Crystal Palace player we'd probably be looking at him...
I like him and I sincerely hope he comes back to us and gives it another go. I think we missed him at times, certainly at set pieces where he always seemed a threat. But there is just a niggling doubt that he could fit into our side and its style at the moment. Come on Chris, convince us all we can save some money on a new striker.
championship standard player in what is looking more and more like a championship squad. We would need to sign about 5-6 players for next season to have a chance of staying up. I think Lambert was smart enough to know that even if he stayed he would not of been able to keep us up again. All 3 teams that have gained promotion will find it easier to attract players than us i'm afraid and that is a fact.
Well ain't you just a little barrel of laughs.* *babelfish translation: "hello unsubtle troll, are you and Ips***h fan by any chance?"
When there is a change of management you often get a few surprises with certain players becoming first team players and others being dropped so it is certainly a possibility.
He's DEFINITELY NOT a Norwich fan! If he keeps up this sort of ****e, he'll be posting it elsewhere! He is on borrowed time!
On a more serious note regarding his post, I'd love to know why we are suddenly third-favourites for the drop (other than simply betting patterns). Lambert is a genius, but there's only so far up a table genius can get you. I think we were unlucky not to get into the top ten last season, I don't think we're seven places worse off all of a sudden without Lambert. Even without Holt I don't think we're in serious trouble at all. At this stage, even Warnock would be able to keep us up next season because all we need is a motivator. After all, of the two of the teams coming up (Southampton and Reading) I'm positive that man-for-man we are much better. As for Wet Sham, I would hope we're better than them too. I think we're probably better than QPR (though they might spend ridiculous amounts this summer of course), I think we're a touch better than Swansea and arguably West Brom too, we're definitely better than Wigan and Aston Villa (on current squads). Equally we should be able to give Sunderland and Stoke a run for their money. All in all, we would need a catastrophically bad effort from a manager to bring us down to relegation worries...
I have a feeling that Holt will move to one of the newly promoted teams as they will offer him the 3 year deal he wants. To say that Holt is to old for a 3 year deal shows just how tight our board is even with all that money that has come in. I believe the club are happy to gain big payouts from the premiership and accept relegation for next season and Lambert was smart enough to look ahead.
I read the other day i think it was evening news online... one fan said i think we are a good championship club really.... i thought is this guy and norwich fan or not
So we are already relegated!!! What do you base that statement on????? This squad comfortably kept us in the PL. Yes of course always need a few additions but this squad has enough quality to stay in the PL. Why would you assume a player would rather go to the newly promoted clubs??? Do you go on to the Pinkun forum??? I would imagine you are a glass half empty type, As I have said before, we are Norwich City before Lambert and Holt and will be after. I for one am looking forward to next season to see more of the same from us.........OTBC
