Nothing about Dunford and what happens next. Just turn up on Saturday, kids go free again, get behind the team and manager, aim frustrations at the board on the players and trying to get in another striker asap.

    <ok>

At this moment in time I'm still backing DC but what I don't get is we have six forwards in are squad are they really not up to the job or is it because of lack of service.

I heard a lot during the Barnet and Altrincham game from the commentators say there is no service going to the forwards. During the Grimsby game, 9 times out of 10 we were playing hoofball to Brunt who most of the time was able to win the ball and keep it to get others in the game. At that point, the others showed a lack of quality in the final 3rd.

So its a mix from me Seamge. Poor or no service to the front line but when the front line do get it in the final 3rd, they struggle due to lack of skill and quality to do anything with the ball.

We only scored on Saturday due to luck where the head tennis in the box fell to Mansell to head in. Otherwise we would have played 3 scored none.

Look at the teams we played in preseason. Some of them we should have been hammering. But if you add preseason game along with the 3 league games, we have played more than we scored and remember 4 goals were scored in 1 preseason game at Gloucester winning 4-3.

Whatever striker we get in, needs to be a 25 goal plus striker. Someone who can create a chance from nothing. Someone who will need to be 1st on the team sheet each week. Not someone to be in the bench as cover.

There's enough experienced players out there for them to pull themselves together.Mansell and Sinclair have done ok. McChrystal and Parkes need a rocket after Saturday's display. Up front Taylor, Brunt and White have shown glimmers of better things to come. But they all need to play like their careers depend on it rather than just turning up.

Jelf is wasting his breath. If the players don't try or are totally clueless, they get barracked - everything else is down to either the coaching staff or the board.

We know that and act accordingly. We will always get behind the team unless they're just not trying - 7k rocked up and gave full vocal support last Saturday week FFS.

What the board need to be aware of is people just not turning up if they continue to mismanage the club.

There's all this nonsense about us not accepting our current lot. Bollocks. The vast majority of Gasheads accept we 're non-league and have moved on. It's the board who have remained the same - same lies, lack of communication and poor stewardship.

I for one am fed up of being told to get behind the team by the dopey directors whose actions have f**ked it all up in the first place.

firstly I would like to say I find it very interesting that this statement has come from Jelf not Higgs?? also every single supporter is saying the same thing we need a 25 goal a season striker!! agreed we do need this, so do every other football club. In order to get a 25 goal striker we need to buy one! this has not happened at all (any Player) for a long long time so why would we have a sudden change ? truth is at the moment we have a chairman who is like a child I.e. its my ball my rules otherwise me and my ball are going home!!!

I have said this before and will say this again the football club needs a new direction and with the size of the fan base we as supporters could raise the money to challenge these idiots!!!. we the fans organised a petition for the ground, we can start our own petition again to either raise the funds to remove them and get these so called investors all together and have a complete overhaul

welcome to the forum ryan1883 <ok>

we have a long history of stikers who have managed to score more than 20 goals. some we got for free and some cost us money. last time we had one was hoskins who although scored for fun for us, we still got relegated. there must be players out there still looking for a club but wants to keep options open until near the end of the window. also with the transfer window closing at the end of the month, there will be players who become available on loan too. we will need to be quick to get 1 in if clarke has no joy between now and then.

as regards the fans buying out higgs, we will need £30million plus as the mem is in his name and obviously been sold to sainsburys for around this amount so to buy out higgs, i would guess we need that much! raising that amount will never happen.

Well Chris Jelf who the F8ck do you think the Supporters have been having ago at ? Its the whole lame duck lot that got us to the bottom of the dung heap in the first place. In case you hadn't noticed its NH that has been the main instrument of our Clubs demise.

He and the fellow Board are the ones that gave all the incompetent managers that we have had of late the job, bank rolled the players they signed and as such have to take the flack. The problem is you and the fellow Pals (?) in the Boardroom haven't noticed and the only way you will take notice is when the Fans anger at being ignored by the Directors is vented towards (with every justification ) the jokers on the pitch.

It just shows how out of touch your ship mates at the top are, you can not see the wood for the trees and this has been the case for to long.

Now an even bigger concern is that the Mem is held if CJS is correct in the name of Mr Nick Higgs, is there not a trust deed in place that states that it is held in his name as a trustee and in the event of the folding of BRFC will not revert to his exclusive personal ownership ? The more I think and look at what has happend over recent years if there is no such deed in place i AM VERY VERY CONCERNED. A nice valuable bit of real estate even if Sainsbury's do pull out. Surely Not ?

Surely the board must realise by now that giving our total support to the team is something the vast majority of fans will always do and continue to do. The players haven't got the blame for a while IMO because I think most of us are just acknowledging the squad we have or have had is low on quality, and for that we blame Higgs and co.

Also, haven't the board noticed that every time they ask us to properly get behind the team we still seem to lose? IT DOESN'T WORK GUYS SO DON'T ASK AGAIN!

http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/club/visit-us/ the stadium is owned by the memorial stadium company. but i believe that company is owned by higgs. also this link provides a good break down of events about how we became owners of the stadium. it shows how a couple of times bristol went into financial difficulties and had to form into new clubs which lost its history as no relationship to the former club. explains the contracts between both them bristol and us. it explains its bristols own fault, they made contract agreements which they couldnt keep and went into administration a few times. we saved them basically and allowed their new club to remain playing at the mem. where their new club has no relationship with the old - basically losing their history as a result. the ground given as a dedication for the war dead was given to bristol rugby who sold their half of the mem for £10K losing the stadium and its dedication and had to be reformed into a new club.
so anyone who says we stole the ground and anyone who says the stadium is still a ground dedictated for the war dead need to take note of the actual facts.

So Nick Higgs purchased the Stadium as I read it for £2.3 mill. As a development asset it would bring way more than that so was it really done for the benefit of Bris Rovers ? How much did Rovers used to pay for use of the Beeches facility, far too much !

Seems that the Directors want their cake and eat it, leave the pie munching to the peasants on the terraces !

Thanks CJS for the link. The only way to dig this one out is through paying for The Memorial Stadium Companies records from Companies House, just might prove interesting.
