    Canary fan in peace.

A lot of debate already on our board about Chris Hughton and the job he is doing (or not depending on which camp you are in!).

Out of interest, if you were looking for a manager , would Chris Hughton be of interest or not?

Be interesting to get your views.

I don't believe Chris Hughton could take us forward if we were to lose AVB. Michael Laudrup would be much more suited, IMO.

However, I think CH is a good manager and will have a good season with Norwich. You've bought some really good players, which'll help your continued growth as a club.

Certain posters on here would take Hughton over Freund as assistant manager in a heartbeat...

Nope, wouldn't want him. He's done well and worked hard for a long time and fully deserves this chance he's got now.

I honestly can't see why you would want rid of him. I assume it's based on the first 2 games, which is way too reactionary. Surely last season you were delighted with him taking you to finish higher than Lambert managed. It all seems mad to me that there's even a suggestion of giving him the boot.

Give him time. He's made what seem to be good signings, so let them gel and see how he does.
Far too early to be calling time on him now, surely?

Chris Hughton is building a team on a budget. Rome wasn't built in a day you should give him time. He is definitely better than Holloway, Pards, Lambert, Hughes, and as good as Martinez, Big Sam, Clarke, Bruce and possibly even Jol. We are aiming for the top four and he is not quite there yet, but he is still learning, perhaps we might consider him in the future. He has made some good signings which will probably take a few games to gel. I don't think you could do better at the moment.

The problem for Hughton is that he's a defensively minded coach and after last year's great mini run, they have won 4 games out of 24.

Watching a boring team get beat isn't much fun for their fans, so you can understand why they are concerned.

I think the style is dependent on the available players. Redknapp could attack with the players at his disposal at Spurs but it didn't work at QPR. Martinez was eventually relegated at Wigan. Team like Stoke and Everton have maintained their place in the prem by solid defending and the Chavs to some extent used a bus to win the CL. The skill of a manager is to make best use of his players whether it be by game plan or by motivation.

If you ask the Norwich fans they will say there was a change in approach, to a more defensive game and they are bored of the football being played...

Redknapp has always Been an attack minded coach, but can't say it never worked at QPR as when he arrived everyone said '' impossible to keep them up '' ... then as soon as Redknapp is in charge people say it never worked but I expect when they return, he will have stamped his attacking mentality on the team.

All managers have their own personality and style of play, and with the same group of players teams can play different styles with different managers.

but as for Hughton being our manager, only if he was out of work and we was in desperate need of a caretaker manager, no offence to Hughton who is a top guy but teams like Norwich are the best he can really hope for at this level.

    Right now, no.

Give him a few years though and he may prove a few people wrong. To be fair to him, he doesn't have much experience as a manager, and he is doing ok.
Most Managers can learn at the bottom, and have made their mistakes before they get to the prem.

I think he will keep you up, which for most fairly recently promoted teams would be enough.

Cheers lads. Some of the football has been dire and 4 wins out of 24 premier league games is not great. The fans are mixed. I think we need to see where we are in ten games. We need points on the board early doors as we have a dire run in, so hopefully he will get those new signings producing the goods. We will see.

Entertaining cup game tonight though and if you get a chance have a look at Bury's 3rd goal. Corker that we all applauded!

NOTHING like high profile enough. There was a time last season you were doing well and I thought he might be touted as a future Spurs coach but you fell away badly. Norwich have been up and down over the years and I expect history to repeat itself.

Too early to say I think mate. Hughton's a legend here so it'd always be nice to be managed by someone like him, just not yet. He's managed to bring in some great players for you lot, hopefully they'll gel well in the coming games and we can see the sort of set up Hughton is trying to implement. <ok>

That picture does look a bit like Michael Owen although he has put on a bit of timber!
