Right that is a superb appointment for Forest and yes he was the manager the majority of us wanted. But DH has had a 100% win record so far in the championship and for me that all we want. As it stands I’m more than happy with the DH appointment but this will become very interesting as the league goes by us 12 from 12 Forest 0 from 12 let’s see what happens. Forest have a top six side and I’m sure will be there come the end.The big factor they have a guy that has done it many times-us we have a rookie.
I wasn't one of the majority and much happier that we didn't go down the route of the "been around the block" candidates.... It will be an interesting appointment, but I have a funny feeling it won't last long....He will need to get off to a very good start..
With the way Covid has affected football I think Holden is right for us and Hughton is right for Forest. They have some real talent up there with a bigger budget than us. I think in time they'll be on our tail. So what, they can make top six and we can go up automatically. Now where's my tablets.
some he fans on here did wish but was never in the boards calculations! CITY strike AGAIN ….! yet another manager bites the dust … moral there somewhere? .. does it mean we are so cr** they are sacked for not beating us? or they are **ap! [ manager that is ]
It will be very interesting to see how well he does there. I was one who wanted Hughton but I’m also happy to admit I’m delighted and surprised how well we have started.
If they are not there or thereabouts by towards the end of the season, I think he will be gone, not sure the Forest fans will put up with his style of football. But hey, what do I know!!
I was a big advocate of Chris Hughton for our manager, I didn't want Dean Holden, how wrong was I but if allowed, good luck with the man at Nottingham Forest he is a bloody good man and I wish hin success but only after us.
He has a massive squad... brought in a dozen during transfer window? … or more! Likely Christmas will be a crunch moment [ well maybe after game 23 -24 ] needs to be in top 10?
As said highly respected by the football industry will be very interesting-On paper Forest have a cracking squad-think Hughton will turn them around big time.
Forest are fast becoming a Leeds MK II what with chopping and changing their Manager every few months. Hughton probably will turn it around, but if he doesn't, he'll be next for the axe.
Not as bad as TWatford. What I would say is he will have a very good starting point, he has inherited a very good squad. Their main problem on Saturday was that they looked disorganised at the back and that has usually been his forte as a coach, they looked good in midfield but to be fair we kept them mainly at long range. So maybe to get the best out of Grabban, needs to work on better supply in areas where he operates best. At least he doesn't need a complete squad overhaul, I suspect at the moment the owners are more interested in steadying the ship and reaching relative safety and then see where that takes them. I have to say IMHO it's nonsense to suggest that they will not like his style of football, under the last manager it was as negative as it was possible to be, constantly being outplayed but snatching results, I seem to recall even we outplayed them in the post lockdown return and we were pretty crap at the time.
True that ! It's funny, but Forest were the only team (I believe?) that we never took a point from when we were in the old 1st Division. Then came our meteoric fall through the three divisions below and we didn't meet them again, I don't think, until the LC Semi Final in 1989 where we should have won at the City Ground, but we took a 1-1 draw back here in the pissing rain, and I've seldom seen a pitch that bad or with so much water on it. We were generally second best throughout and we lost 1-0. Then came promotion and I seem to remember we were still losing to them most times even then. But recently at Championship level our record against them has been pretty good, home and away and we seem to have broken their jinx on us. Initially Hughton will just want to get some points on the board, and there are still 42 games to go and you wouldn't bet against them being top 6 come May 2021. Like Brentford, Forest were well placed at the end of last season but after screwing things up royally (like Brentford), they've just carried on where they left off. He has some good players there but they also have quite a tough game away at Blackburn to start with.
Forest will finish top six I'm very confident of that outcome-excellent players with a pedigree manager guiding them.
DH fantastic job so far and as long as this carries on we will all be very happy fans.CH has got a plum job there at Forest though and will turn them around.
