I'm glad that Chris made this choice but hope that he can get something out of Samba for the future. He's still young and with the right coaching and direction could be a very good player to have. If they see progress in his development before the end of his contract, I'd give him another one with the right terms.
I think CR got this bang on tbh but I would also like to see Samba back on board at some point, provided CR can sort out his discipline ( which i used to put down to over excited exhuberance rather than anything malicious ) ........................and besides I used to love his mazey runs from deep.
I think he made the wrong choice. Diakite can play at right back for a start as he has done at international level.
Would be worried BBH about his "stay on the pitch for 90 minutes" ability But more importantly how do you get your cute animations into your signature please?
I am pleased to hear this. Diakete has proven he has can be a good asset, but can also be a liability. Giving younger players a chance could prove hugely beneficial in the long term. Doughty has been with the club a while, and I'm sure Ramsey has seen him play quite a few times, so he must have seen that he is good enough.
I wanted Diatike to be in the squad. BUT, if it was a straight choice betwee him & Doughty I am happy with CR's decision. I think I would have named Samba though in place of SWP!
Anyone else worried about the comment “Michael’s a good player who deserves to be in the squad. Samba’s here, and he’s fit and flying about in training.” Don't we have enough injuries!
