Title contenders for the whole season then get spanked by the already relegated Toon. Gooners chuffed to finish 2nd but both they and Spuds must be kicking themselves that Leicester ran away with it. Best chance either side will have in a very long while of winning the Prem.
They both whine the Prem every year, and we finished only 8 points behind Leicester last season, beats their 10 and 11 points gap hands down. I'm absolutely delighted with how the Prem table looks this year, wish I could say the same for the Championship.
I'll say, only 2 points gained from the final 4 matches played, when they had the opportunity to win the title, even worse getting pipped at the post by arch rivals Arsenal - Daniel Levy must be fuming.
reckon that they were suffering after the draw with Chelsea and didn't think things could get worse. I, probably like most others would have thought that the score should have been the other way round, but well played Newcastle - nothing to play for except pride and that left the Geordies very happy.
Contrary to what many are saying, Leicester actually WON the title, the others didn't lose it. They only lost 3 matches out of 38, I believe that's the fourth best record of losses in modern top-flight history. Too many snide comments from those who think the 'elite' have a divine right to win the title regardless. I believe if they can keep this squad together and add a few quality players they'll be challenging for the title again next season
Leicester won the title far and square. Their good run started the season before and just continued. Players playing for the shirt and each other. Hopefully we won't have to wait for another "small" club (apologies to any Leicester fans reading this, the comment is not meant to offend or mock) another 20 years for the monopoly to be broken
No sympathy for them. They have performed poorly considering the money that's been ploughed into them for years. For that you expect a bit of mental resilience. Instead we got cynicism by the spade. While I'm naturally not too upset when Chelsea get stood up to the way Spurs went about them at Stamford Bridge was frankly a disgrace. When that failed, they fell apart.
THESE KIND OF SCORES OFTEN HAPPEN BECAUSE THE RELEGATED TEAM HAVE ALL THE PRESSURE TAKEN OFF THEM AND THEY PUNCH WELL ABOVE THERE WEIGHT WE DID IT WHENWE PLAYED COVENTRY WE WERE RELEGATED AND A YOUNG 18 YEAR OLD CALLED CLIVE ALLEN THEN HE WAS AN UNKNOWN BUT HE BLASTED A HATRICK THAT DAY AS WE WON 4-1 BUT I FEEL THAT NEWCASTLE WILL RUN AWAY WITH THE TITLE NEXT SEASON IF THEY CAN KEEP ANDROS TOWNSDEND
The Foxes did a great job but if you are Arsenal, Spurs, Chelskum, Man Utd or Man City you'd have to think you lost out. For my tuppence worth I think Leicester will be mid-table at the end of next season. When the big money starts calling they will have to sell off the crown jewels and all the extra matches with the Champions League could hit them hard as they don't have the squad of an Arsenal or Man City. Could they turn down stupid money for Vardy? Maybe for one more season but he's bound to be offski sooner rather than later. I also think the Prem teams are going to be looking long and hard at Leicester vids and will soon start to set themselves up to deal better with their 'hit them on the break' approach. It would be nice to think the likes of Leicester could do it again but the old brigade will be spending big and don't be surprised to see some of the best talent on show at the Euros to end up at the big Prem clubs. The best thing about Leicester winning is that it gives hope throughout the Leagues that anything is possible.
I think they'll stay together for at least next season. They are unique and significantly greater than the sum of their parts. I reckon most of them would do a Stirling if they left, with the exception of mahrez perhaps.
