Academy manager Steve Cooper has heaped praise on the Chinese duo currently enjoying a week-long trial at Liverpool. Lung Chan, 16, and Chen Nal, 15, have already made their mark on the training pitch and Cooper admits he has been pleasantly surprised by what they have been able to offer. Cooper told Liverpoolfc.tv: "It's been a pleasure to work with them to be honest. They are two good lads. First and foremost, they've done everybody associated with them proud with the way they have conducted themselves. "They've done well on the training pitch too. Obviously there is a bit of language barrier, but they've got around that and got heavily involved in our training sessions. Technically they are both more than competent. They may be different in stature - one is quite tall and one is quite small - but they both have physical attributes and they are good players, there's no doubt about that. "Our lads have welcomed them too. The Chinese boys speak very little English but they've still got involved and made a good impression." He added: "They've got a few days left of their trial and we are still very much looking at them. "Stuart (Webber), Frank (McParland) and Damien (Comolli) will all want our opinions from a coaching point of view and then they will make any decisions accordingly. "It has been very interesting to take a look at them and you can see why the two lads were brought in to begin with." China is a massive country and haven't produced many footballers. It's a big sport and with the amount of people playing football in China, there has to be some quality prospects. Hopefully this sort of thing will help us grow in China and therefore help grow our club. Your thoughts?

We have to look at this from 2 standpoints - playing and commercial (even though the two are ultimately inextricably linked). At the moment we have to look worldwide for the best youngsters that we can just as our competitiors are. So, by bringning over good potntial youngsters we are trying to maximise our future. Commercially, the market potential is huge. From other industries it is clear that the Chinese authorities are more welcoming to those organisations that make a major commitment to their country. These 2 youngsters anre part of the first step to demonstrating that commitment. LFC style training academies will be the next step.
Still at CSKA I believe and he was abit disgruntled as well. Can play a number of positions, excellent at set pieces as well.
This is a big reason Japan has come on leaps and bounds, started by the dutch Coerver movement ( foot skills, foot skills and more foot skills) and Zico helped introduce a bit more of the flair to the game. They have taken hold of both of those methods and are now producing players of a high quality due to how technical they are. They also make Mizuno's which are the best cleats in the world......
As we know, our owners have put a strategy in place to find the best young talent and bring them to Liverpool Football Club. Like I have already said, China is a massive country and football is a massive sport. Millions play it and there will be some excellent prospects. From the commercial point of view, it's a market which can be exploited. If we were to find a Chinese player who is good enough to play for Liverpool Football Club, the commercial opportunities are massive.
With China in particular, it is important to be seen to be developing ther talent and not just trying to skim it. Whoever gets the biggest slice of their development programmes - which will be controlled centrally - is far more likely to reap the biggest rewards.

I think you need some English lessons with the Chinese duo ^^ On topic I wish these lads well but with a slight word of caution...I hope certain players don't get fast tracked just because of their "market value" as opposed to because of their ability. I suspect that this won't happen but just a thought.

He wasn't too happy as being 13 he wants luminous green boots. I let him chose the blades and I got him the shiny leather Puma Kings studs. He admitted that they were really comfy compared to the Nike blades. "But the Nikes look sic" Bloody kids.

Bloody Americans! A CLEAT is a strong point on a boat or pontoon around which a line, painter or sheet can be wrapped. It has nothing at all to do with football BOOTS. Mpw then Billy and Luv, you think Green boots are bad. I can remeber the kicking the kid got who first played in White boots!

With the population, not only in China but all over Asia, it's surely only a matter of time before some top class talent is produced and as stated if we can snap up a couple who are decent enough to be in the team on merit then it can only help with the commercial side of things as well. P.S Adidas World Cups will always be the best boot around.
