Wow, what a knee jerk reaction from many today about the sale of Wickham. 'Oh the sky is falling down, our club has no ambition, we need at least 10 new players now to replace the one who left' and all the other over reactions are quite unnecessary. Why is there a distinct lack of patience in football now. Everythings need to be done yesterday. We now have a bit of cash from the sale, does that mean we have to spend it all this transfer window. If the right players aren't available should we just buy whoever we can get or wait 'til next window. I know we have been in this division a long while but we always seem to be doing things in the quick fix way, what's wrong with just seeing some steady improvement. We are not the most attractive prospect at the moment and unless we are at the top end of the table we won't be, regardless of who we sign. We have some decent players already and with a good pre season and PJ's new methods some of our current players might even surprise us. If anyone else wants to leave , let 'em. We don't need anyone on our books who doesn't want to be here. So let's have a little bit less doom and gloom please and have some faith in our new manager.
SD In case it has escaped your notice we have been patient now for almost 10 Fecking years! It's always jam tomorrow!
Also you seem to have forgotten that we have lost half our squad already, so its very bloody important that we get more in!!!
Yes we have to chill out, but we must not (Well Mr PJ anyway) panic... Lets leave it with PJ to ensure that he gets the right player, with the right attitude for the right price
Yeah JWM, but since we've started chopping and changing managers and had a huge rotation of players we've done feck all. We now have a manager in place who could possibly take us places but it will take time, not one transfer window. We need to stay off the manager and the players backs. We had some good finishes when we had a more settled team and way of playing. We have some players on our books who we cannot move on because nobody wants them and need to wait for their contracts to run down. We need some consistency, in the way we play, our first eleven etc but this doesn't happen overnight.
