Can you guys settle an argument for me, that me and my brother are having.... Does the the chief commercial officer (Billy Hogan) have any say in who we buy in the transfer window?? I say he doesn't, i believe he will be: - Head of advertising - Head of sponsorship - Head of merchandise - Head of revenue - Travelling most of the year to get the best deals for LFC My brother says he does, he believe he will be doing all of the above and also: - Giving advice to Henry about who is value for money (for me that is a massive no no as he specialises in finance so it would undermind our DoF) - Gives details about there current contracts - How much we should spend on a player For me he will only contact Henry to give him figures about the clubs finances, how much profit we're making monthly and annualy and then as a result of this it will give henry a better understanding of a transfer budget. I do not believe he will have any say on the players we bring in as that is not his job!! Your thoughts please cos neither of us are backing down!!
No no no…the important info to tell us is. How do you eat them? Do you nibble on them? Give them a good sucking? Or just gulp them down?
how would either of you have any idea off one lfc website note? just think about that before you waste your summer arguing over it. then think was a commerical manager would do v an MD....
Sorry?? I don't get what you mean?? It's just our interpretation of the role of a Chief Commercial Officer, and we have different views on it!...
I think Ian Ayre was the Commercial Director but seems to have been promoted for his fastidious defence of Kenny's sacking. He didn't have a say in transfers, at least not once Puirslow was gone. They may or may not have taken on those duties once they'd sacked Rafa and had a quick game of FM to brush up on the market.
My understanding from what I have read (when FSG first arrived and appointed Comolli and Kenny) is, the DoF and manager (with support from the scouting team) are responsible for finding and negotiating signings but each one must be presented to the board / owners too. Hence them saying that there is no set budget, they treat each outlay independently as it comes.
