Not taking over till the summer i believe, so it may be a long one keeping hold of him till the start of next season. New contract maybe. Mind you this is the Daily Mail reporting this. Not the most accurate are they.
Not sure this would be a huge gap to fill, although he was very good last night. It would be a problem if Liverpool start sniffing around Ashley this summer as well. Losing one we can deal with, but two would be tough.
Personally I would be devastated if we lost Chico. After a tentative start, he has developed his understanding with Ash into one of the best centre back pairings in the Premier League. It has been a long, long time since I felt so confident with our defending and, whilst that is not all down to Chico, he has played a huge part in that. Nevertheless, we still might lose him because he obviously has a great regard for Pep, which perhaps rivals his relationship with Laudrup. For sure, playing for Bayern Munich, one of the powerhouse teams in Europe, must be a huge attraction. I hope this doesn't happen because I don't think that he will be easy to replace. Perhaps if we can get into Europe and have a decent run, we can head this off but it is obvious that the better we do, the more big clubs will come in for our players. At least if it does happen, we should make Bayern pay through the nose for him.
Laudrup is pep s idol so im sure he can Find a like minded player elsewhere. I dont Think pep would shaft laudrup like that TBH . Im sure if it came down to it then chico would go to the bigger club,its a no brainer but i feel that as Long as laudrup is at the helm most of his signings Will be happy to stay. Lets not worry about it ..at least till the summer !

Definitely wouldn't want to lose Chico, but Bartley would become a fine replacement .... then who stands behind Bartley.
