JAVIER Chevanton was on the scoresheet as QPR shared four goals in a reserves friendly at Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday afternoon. The Uruguayan striker opened the scoring at Spursâ training ground before playing a pivotal part in the Râs second as Marc Birchamâs side came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw. Chevanton â poised to make his competitive Râs debut after being named amongst the substitutes for Saturdayâs win over Middlesbrough â won a penalty to provide a chance for a second-half equaliser, allowing a trialist to level the scores from the spot. âJavier played well â scoring one, winning a penalty and also hitting the post,â Bircham told www.qpr.co.uk at full time. âWe didnât know what to expect really but we played well and probably should have won.â Chevanton was one of several senior members utilised by Bircham alongside the likes of first-team duo Yun Suk-Young and Samba Diakite. The afternoon also proved a useful exercise for the Elite Development Squad, with young quartet Sam Magri, Jamie Sendles-White, Frankie Sutherland and Michael Petrasso amongst the starting XI. Meanwhile, new recruit Ben Pattie featured from the bench exactly a week after agreeing terms to join the EDS ranks. Bircham added: âBen did well coming on as a substitute and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. âYou can use more than three over-age players in friendlies so thatâs why we play these games. You can try a few different things without the pressure of league points to play for. âIt was a good test, for the senior lads and the younger boys. Frankie Sutherland was probably our best player but overall I was really impressed with the whole team.â Read more at http://www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/011013-reserves-spurs-report-1089631.aspx#0UvutBeizFm3CWLF.99 Great news that Chevanton scored, also pleased to see that Sutherland was playing.
have we signed the ex hearts captain (whose name I'm not gonna try and pronounce) I hope he's not going to train with us then go somewhere else.
Zack McCormack @zackmcc98 The QPR trialist who scored today is Basile Camerling. #QPR It means nothing to me.....
Basile Camerling: French striker, 26 years old. Has played only 43 senior games in 8 years, scoring 9 times. This makes him sound dreadful. We had the Pelican, please not the Camel as well!
Come on Roller, your Wiki skills are better than that....French attacker 26, 9 goals in 43 appearances over 8 seasons with 4 different clubs (2 on loan from Nancy). Sounds like he never made the step up..... beat me to it Eamon
I agree. I can't work out which is worse? Basile or the soundtrack on this video of him. Who's idea was it to bring him in?
Here's a story that was posted on WATRB about Chevanton's loyalty as a player: http://myheartbeatsfootball.wordpress.com/2013/06/18/touching-story-ernesto-chevanton-and-lecce/
Crikey. If he's not ..... 'The Right Sort' then I don't know who is ? What a refreshing and heartwarming story. Cheers Stainsy.
To get back to the OP Chevanton playing well and scoring is great news for us, just what we need with nobody else to turn to
Couldn't have put it more succinctly !! And with the right attitude, could Harry have pulled another gem out of the bag ??
