Hopefully over 20k crowd with the football for a fiver deal.
I just hope we dont freeze like vs Exeter last season and I reckon this has the makings of a goal fest, and I will certainly be punting over 2.5 goals and buying total goal minutes.
Hope and trust this time we come out the right side of a thriller.

it will be cagey as they will want to avoid losing like they did in the last one. I think we will scrap a 1-0

Slightly worried about Chesterfield hitting form, they looked like being the whipping boys of this league but have won their last 3 and seem to have found a real goal threat in Leon Clarke.

We can't afford to relax and take the attitude that it will be easy, however I fear that many of the crowd coming back for the first time in ages will expect us to roll them over just because they're 'only' Chesterfield. Particularly if, as against Exeter, we play our patient passing game (which is of course the right thing to do), the likelihood of frustration and even boos will increase. If Chesterfield have any sense they'll play on this expectation and do what Sheffield Wednesday did, namely make it impossible for us to play our normal game.

So I'm nervous, but I'll still go for a Charlton victory, 2-0, BWP and Jackson.

I had them as my surprise package in our start of season prediction thread. Think a lot of teams across all divisions are taking their promotion momentum and carrying them on in the new leagues. Will be a tough game- but think we should see it out 2-0 or 2-1.

    Hello gents,

Will be coming across from my West Country base to see my lads at the Valley for the first time. I think it will be a good atmosphere and I hope that we manage to come to The Valley and play our usual expansive game.

I think we are in for an open enough game with plenty of pace and passing from both teams, hopefully we can come away with a win but at this moment in time I think every Chesterfield fan will be happy with a solitary point.

    Any travel tips?

Whats worrying me they seemed to be working for one another and a belief gone right through the club,u watch them move up to the play offs towards end of season, got a superb new ground and a good manager i am worried on this one maybe a 0-0 draw at best.

Big welcome from us! As for travel tips- best way is to find yourself at London bridge and charlton is 10minutes on the train. We are literally a stone throw away from the stadium when you get there!

OK, if there's anybody on here this afternoon, I'm going to post comments on this thread, rather than create a new one.

Gutted I'm not at this one - should be a great afternoon - we certainly shouldn't be making the same mistake as we made last season.

This time we'd like some of the 'occasionals' to come back again!

Smart idea of the club to reduce the price of shirts for the day as well. Obviously got a decent marketing specialist on board.

O/S reporting no changes to the side, with Kermorgant coming in for Pritchard on the bench.

No place for Danny Green again. Possibly still not quite 100%.

    Tweakes <ok>

Woke up at 7 this morning with plans to go down to London. Was too tired and exhausted by 11, which is when I would've had to leave. Hope it's a good one.

    Afternoon, Irish.

Yes, we need a decisive performance today to see us into the games against MKD and The Blades.

Slightly surprised to see Danny Hollands starting - must have bought a set of ear plugs!

    Definitely.

Feels like this season I'll be at a lot of away games and not as many homes.

    Jonathan <ok>

    Good start so far
