Someone on twitter has tweeted Burnsy saying theres a rumour Villa are apparently interested, anyone else heard this?
A friend sitting in the west stand saw Villa scouts three times last season, And considering he probably only went no more than 10 I reckon they were there a few other occasions. These blokes wore suits with the villa logo stitched in if anyone else saw?
Nope, i sit where all the scouts sit normally but couldn't say i did, but i may have missed them. I know West Ham took a look, and i swear someone said Everton and Sunderland did to, but bar that i don't think there is anything in it especially with Villa changing manager.
It has been said on many occasions that City are not selling any assets. I know a major bid might mean they will have to seriously consider it but as it stands no one is going anywhere.
Statements such as we issued about this are pointless. If Juventus can sell Zidane or Man Utd sell Ronaldo then Im pretty sure Hull City could sell James Chester... And a silly money offer is not always a bad thing. When Juve sold Zidane they used to money to buy Nedved, Thuram and Buffon. Who did best out of that deal?
I see where you're coming from but they didn't have businessmen who have the interests of making the Club better for the people within the City. I think if the Allams don't want to sell, they won't sell. Unless of course Chester asks to leave himself, they have the power to accept/reject. That is unless he also has a stupid clause which allows bids of a certain stature be accepted straight away.
I believe ALL players are for sale @ every club for the right price . Here's hoping no one offers the right price. ie 5m plus .
The Allams made this statement on two occasions. To date no one has gone anywhere. I believe they stick by their word, is that proof enough?
Im not criticising the Allams, Im saying it's football. I remember Sir Alex saying he wouldnt even sell Real a virus and then next minute Ronaldo has gone. Do you honestly think we'd even refuse £10m for him? Because we wouldnt and therefore he is for sale the same as every other footballer in the world.
Burnsy also tweeted a rumour on saturday about Antonio from Reading and we know how that all ended up. James Chester to Aston Villa is about as likely as RVP to Manchester City.!!!
Read my first post above. I did say that if a ridiculous offer came in they would consider it. They would be daft not to.
There is no doubt, that if a rather substantial amount of money was offered, the Allams would accept. But if teams are gonna offer only a little above, level or below the valuation of the player, they won't. But should they offer say £10m for him, accepting that would benefit the Club as much as keeping him.
They've just signed Holland international Ron Vlaar from Feyenoord for £3.2m, very much doubt Chezy will join.
Sometimes have to differentiate between managers requirements on the pitch and the owners business interests. Offer clauses are often included in third an fourth contracts ie Koren. As a youngster Chester has chosen to leave MU so is unlikely to have an offer clause n his contract. The fact that Sonny B has gone out on loan and rumour is that Cooper is also likely to go out shows what the managers plans are for CB. Has anyone else considered that Chester would be good in midfield? Some of his runs out of defence suggest he may have a more attacking ambition.Reads the game well also.Must admit I had this thought watching the traffic warden last season.
exactly, every player has a price & if the player gets the huff cos he loses his "dream" move, then he's no good to the team.. you basically have to cash in
Yes, to a degree. Someone else posted basically saying if it is a very big offer they would have to consider it. If the offer is on the valuation or just above they would stick to their statement quite obviously. Thats what I am saying.
I obviously don't want Chester to leave but if a Premier League club comes in for him at the right price then we shouldn't stand in his way
