Not correct. The driver will get fined £1000 AND the organisers will too.

Trust me I used to be part of the Branch.

Cheers, I'm assuming as good will that the lads caught would pay the fine, but legally, would they be fined as well or just the organisers and driver?

We met with northumbria police when we set the branch up 16 years ago and they told us then the laws.

Driver and organisers get fined up to £1000 each (may well be more now as its a few years since I was involved).

Alcohol confiscated and no one on the bus allowed to go to game. It would be held until after kick off, then escorted away from venue.

When I was part of it The buses were dry but those who took over maybe have been more lax.

    The law hasn't changed though.

we got done going to Wolves. Driiver got locked up for the match, went back down to court but don't remember the fine. Jist of it is when you get 20 or so miles from the ground get rid of all your cans and bottles.police told us this. The law was (don't know if it has changed) being in the vacinity of a sports ground.

Its not actually, its travelling to a football venue - you can drink like a fish going to cricket or rugby? Or any other sporting venue.

One rule for us and one for the rest.

Contol of alcohol act ........."all sporting grounds"...........yes whilst travelleing to and from hence police said get rid of any cans, bottles etc. before you get near the ground. Your not likely going to get searched 20 or so miles out. If you do have any alcohol have it stored in the boot out of the way.
