Ok will add some more info tomorrow and Tuesday haven't got time to do it all now.

So I assume Beardsley and JJOT bans start from Tuesday so that means two more first teamers missing.

    Cheltenham Form (last 5 league games): W D D W D - 9pts

    Gas Form (last 5 league games): L D W D L - 5pts

Head To Head (overall 16 matches)

    The Gas W 6 D 4 L 6 GF 20 GA 18

    Cheltenham W 6 D 4 L 6 GF 18 GA 20

    At Whaddon Road (8 matches)

    The Gas W 3 D 3 L 2 GF 10 GA 8

    Cheltenham W 2 D 3 L 3 GF 8 GA 10

Didn't think we had won more at Whaddon Road then Cheltenham had I thought we had only one once.

Well anyway had we not had Beardsley sent off in the first half on Saturday then maybe the outcome of the game would of seen us take some points now him and JJOT are missing its just IMO going to be a struggle and I can't see us getting anything from the game unless JW signs some players on loan before Tuesday evening.

    My prediction for the game......

    Cheltenham 2-0 The Gas

im guessing the line up here without harrison, brunt, clucas and santos who was missing yesterday with injuries and without beardsley and o'toole of course as now suspended.

    ----------------mildenhall----------------
    smith---packwood---parkes---brown
    -------------------clarke------------------
    richards--norburn--lockyer--clarkson
    ------------------harrold------------------

im struggling to fill the bench!

    subs:
    gough
    southway
    keary
    harding
    hunter
    lucas

bench looks weaker than what we had at the start of the season.

we need harrison, brunt, clucas, santos back asap and woodards, mcchrystal and paterson aint far away from being with us again as well!

    Recent visits to Cheltenham:

April 2004 - Cheltenham 1-2 Rovers - Russell Osman and Kevan Broadhurst made it 2 wins out of 2 as Rovers came from behind to take victory. John Brough gave the hosts the lead when he turned in a low cross, but Kevin Austin crosses set up both our goals before half-time. Adam Barrett lifted a shot over Shane Higgs before Junior Agogo met another Austin cross with a powerful header. Cheltenham took the game to us in the second half and it was only the heroics of goalkeeper Kevin Miller that kept them out.

December 2004 - Cheltenham 1-1 Rovers - Jamie Forrester gave Rovers the lead early on when he collected Stuart Campbell's cross and shot low into the corner, but Cheltenham equalised before half time when Gavin Caines headed home from a free-kick. Neither side could find a winner, but Grant McCann twice came close for the Robins.

January 2006 - Cheltenham 2-3 Rovers - A truly memorable afternoon for Rovers, which began with Jamie Forrester curling home a free-kick on 20 minutes. We held that lead until after the midway point of the second half when Steven Gillespie found the net. Kayode Odejayi looked to have won it with a goal in the 88th minute, but incredibly, we found time not just to draw the match, but to win. Craig Disley found the net following a move that came straight from the kick-off, before John Anderson headed in a corner to win it in dramatic circumstances.

March 2008 - Cheltenham 1-0 Rovers - Steve Brooker, on loan from Bristol City, headed in from close range with 10 minutes left to give Cheltenham the three points. Rovers, however, were unlucky after baing the better side for most of the game, with Shane Higgs playing a blinder, saving from Sean Rigg, Craig Disley and Lewis Haldane.

September 2008 - Cheltenham 2-1 Rovers - Veteran former Rovers striker Barry Hayles proved effective with both goals and proving a battering ram in Martin Allen's first game in charge. Rickie Lambert pulled one back early in the second half and despite a Rovers onslaught, Cheltenham held on to condemn us to a place in the relegation zone, but we weren't in there for long.

January 2012 - Cheltenham 0-2 Rovers - A brilliant start to Mark McGhee's time in charge of Rovers which didn't end too well, Cheltenham were made to look like the team struggling in the bottom half in the second half after a keenly contested first 45 minutes. The home side struggled to create chances against an organised Rovers backline and fell behind when Chris Zebroski found the bottom corner with a powerful low finish. Eliot Richards added the second, capitalising on Alan Bennett's mistake to touch the ball in from close range.

February 2013 - Cheltenham 1-1 Rovers - Cheltenham looked set for victory when top scorer Shaun Harrad (who missed that chance for Bury last week) beat Steve Mildenhall from just inside the box shortly before half time. Rovers' second half pressure finally told in the final minute of added time when Oliver Norburn scored THAT goal, from 35 yards.

don't think we will stand a chance tomorrow! best we can look for is a draw and i think with the players we have available, that will be a miracle...

Isn't sad that we have come to this... if you had said to me a few years ago that we would be wishing at best, for a draw against opponents like Cheltenham i would laughed my head off!!
but this is the sad truth of a club in serious trouble and it has been in decline for many years... Lack of investment and many years of any real ambition...

Anyway im wishing for a miracle and that the young lads can put on a good account of themselves!

    Manager on tomorrow night's game

John Ward could be boosted by the return of Ryan Brunt and Ellis Harrison as Rovers travel to Cheltenham tomorrow night.

However, he will be without John-Joe O’Toole and Chris Beardsley, who are both suspended after picking up straight red cards on Saturday.

The manager said: “Ryan Brunt and Ellis Harrison trained yesterday, and will train again today, and if there are no ill effects, they will be in that group tomorrow.

“Seanan Clucas will miss the game tomorrow, but he is talking positively about the weekend.

“Chris and John-Joe have both been silly in my view, and they have both let us down, as they cannot play for three games at a pretty critical time of the season, so that is a big disappointment.

“They were both totally avoidable, and they have to be better than that, they are senior boys who need to do better.”

John is pleased that his side have another game straight away to try and put things right. He believes it is important to look at the positives that have come out of recent games.

He said: “We have the game coming up quickly, which is a good thing, and I will go with what I have got and what I have available to me.

“We have still got enough players with league experience.

We have had one defeat in six, so there is no point me getting upset and uptight and transferring that to the players.

“We will be very positive today, and work towards that game tomorrow knowing there is enough experience and quality in that team to come away from Cheltenham with a victory, and make that one defeat in seven.”

Following on from the dismissals at the weekend, John and his staff are continuing to look at the loan market.

He said: “We are looking, and I have talked to my staff, but we are going to get through the game tomorrow.

“Then it is a case of will they be able to play in the cup, so it is a balancing act. If I bring a player in he really is going to have to play the next four or five games.

“That still gives me two days, and I have some names and numbers in the office, so it is a question of trying to make a move if we think it is right after Cheltenham.”

Cheltenham have had two good seasons, and the manager believes that can be hard to maintain.

He said: “They have had two play off place finishes, and for a club like Cheltenham that is a fantastic achievement in itself, and to maintain that for three years running, or get promotion is tough.

“Sometimes your best players move on elsewhere, and they exist on crowds of 3-4,000 people, and it takes a lot of doing.

“Mark Yates is a very experienced young man and he knows what he is doing and what is required.”

As it seems that most folk feel we ain't gonna win this one, lets hope we do something different and play an attacking formation. We might enjoy watching the game a bit more and you never know; find out that we CAN play some attacking football.

Manager John Ward makes three changes, two of them enforced due to suspensions for O'Toole and Beardsley. Ollie Clarke misses out due to tight hamstring.

Harrold replaces Beardsley up front. Norburn comes in to replace O'Toole and Harding comes in to replace Clarke.

Brunt, Clucas and Harrison missed the Burton game through injury. Brunt and Clucas still not available but Harrison returns to the bench. Is he fit enough?? Only 5 subs named showing we are now in deeper trouble than we were at the start of the season.

    <ok>

Ward said just now that he aint giving away the formation so we will have to wait until kick off.

I hope we havent got just Harrold up front otherwise it will be route 1 football all night long.

    Hopefully he goes for this....
