Hi Guys, New on the site, was on the old 606 and been on ja606 as well. Anyway, I have finally booked myself tickets to my very first Festival and I am looking for some help. I am going to be there on the Wednesday and Thursday next week in the Best Mate Enclosure. I am just looking for any tips, information, or any other advice that you could give me about the week, the BM enclousure, or the festival as a whole, to enhance my experience. Thanks in advance.
Search back through the old threads - there was an article a couple of weeks ago on the various enclosures etc etc etc
My first time too, Doire. By all accounts there are NO bad stands to be in. Just enjoy the day and hope for a few winners. You could do worse than look for them on here. We have our own Cheltenham preview thread coming up tomorrow, and as Oddy says, if you look back through the threads there are lots of views on next weeks Festival. Welcome to the forum btw
Welcome Doire. have a look also at this All Things Cheltenham: A 50 Day Countdown thread. It contains an index to most Cheltenham related threads etc
Hello and welcome to the forum DDB. I've been in the Best Mate enclosure many times and it's great. There is a small temporary stand next to the Guinness tent and it gives you a great view of the course. I've been in club and tatts in recent years and I still think the view from that stand is as good as any. Another positive is that you can comfortably get a beer and place a bet between races. Seems far less crowded than the other side of the course as many seem to set up camp in the Guinness tent and not move from there for the duration. You'll have great time, brilliant day out, especially if you can sneak a few winners.
