Happy to see old boy Smith didn't go to hard on the Story Teller in the Marty Pipey, have a decent Ew wedge on him.
Gordon Elliott absolutely delighted with the mark handed to TOMBSTONE. He says that, rather than supplementing for The Champion Hurdle now, he prefers to run him in The County Hurdle. He's desperate to win The Martin Pipe race and will be well pleased with the treatment of THE STORYTELLER too. I think Gordon's definitely the man to be with in the handicaps this year!
I know a few on here seem keen on one of the good Doc's charges in the County Hurdle. I have my eye on his Duke Street in whichever race he contests. He's in the Coral, the Pertemps and the Martin Pipe.
I am wondering where the yards MAGIE DU MA will turn up. Looking forward to seeing the Imperial Cup entries!
Interesting one isn't it! The one I wonder about is Bloody Mary for the Imperial and County but probably too far down the weights for the County now.
Re that Magie Du Ma there was a Pipe stable tour in the current edition of ‘The Weekender’ and he said a few issues had held the filly back hence the reason why to date she hasn’t run for the yard. Those words could be a bluff though, I suppose, and the fact that they haven’t run is to actually protect her handicap perching. The old girl is in everything bar The Boat Race. Where she turns up at the Festival is anyone’s guess I would have thought the ‘Fred Winter’ would have been the obvious race but at the moment that has got a most strange look to it. Currently 3 are miles clear at the top of the weights but I can’t see any of them running and would envisage the weights rising at least 11 lbs. Magie Du Ma would surely be top weight if she went for the ‘Fred Winter’.
Bloody Mary does indeed run tomorrow in the 2 mile handicap hurdle at Newbury (2.40). Old boy Nico rides. Must say a perch of 133 is most, and I do mean most, appealing re her of the morrow.
I noticed The GoodDr has Vosne entered up, 14/1 Best Odd's, are connections going for the Barney Rubble ?
