Mad to think we'll probably lose to bottom of the league despite all this Still buzzing after last night, we lost and that was disappointing but the fact we were able to go toe-to-toe with the best team in the world shows how good we can become. When the squad have gelled were only going to get better and I'm sure we will win at least one trophy this season.
A disappointing result , but there were a fair few positives! Any game is hard to bear when the opposition equalise with the last kick of the game, particularly when you've been playing with 10 men! The ref's card count must have been a record!
All this toe to toe talk rather hides the fact that we have built a team of players including the likes of Hazard, Oscar, Mata, De Bruyne, Willian, Schurle etc etc so we can the Barca's and Bayern's of football world at their own game. Let's be frank - these players aren't exactly wanting for lack of talent, yet it frustrates me Bayern still managed 4 times as many passes as we did, with twice as much possession. Perhaps it is indeed the fact that a passing team is only as good as its weakest passer - in this case Ramires. Yes yes age old cliche its what you do with possession that counts etc, and yes we're set up nicely for the counter, and yes perhaps we must allow for a collective lack of experience, but in a few years I do hope and expect us to evolve into a team capable of dominating anyone.
Bayern Munich are the best team we will face all season and in a competitive fixture to win a trophy, we showed that we have what it takes to beat them. We're certainly not as good as the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, but we can definitely compete against them which is why we will have a good chance for all four trophies this year.
Teams like United and Arsenal can only look on with envy when we match Europe's top clubs. Only chelsea can give in-form Bayerns and Barcas a game. It's lucky we do, otherwise they would win the European cup every season

Best CL sides of the 00s: Barca 05 (when Bellamy scores against them in 07 they were starting to fall apart under rikjaard), Barca under Pep and Bayern 12. Milan were good 05-7 but Barca and Bayern are better IMO Edit: And the Real sides that destroyed United in 2000 and 2002 were marquee sides too
