One of the most interesting reads I've had on BBC sport for a while. Someone has had some fun making some stats graphs. Chelsea are not in such dire straits as their form would suggest and should be in the top 4 based on how they've played. Tomorrow won't be anything other than quite tricky. Although possibly masked by them having the, apparently, easiest opening fixtures of any team in the prem. Premier League table: How have teams really started? - BBC Sport
Arteta better give them a proper bollocking at half time. Odegaard has been weirdly off the pace today, Saka and Martinelli not got into the game at all. Was NEVER a penalty. You just can't expect players to jump with their arms below their waiste.
About the only thing we can currently say is that we're within touching distance of the top having been very mediocre for the entire season so far. Surely at some point we have to start playing really well while Liverpool and spurs have a bit of a poorer run of form.
How can Partey not be on the pitch? We need someone who can carry the ball through midfield - something he's excellent at. Bringing on ESR and Nketiah - when Midfield is the problem.
Well that proves one thing... You can take the man outta spurs but you can't take Spursy outta the man
Agree. This is getting a bit silly. It's not a good a look to bench our number 1 when his peers voted him as the best goalkeeper in the league last year. If you do it, the replacement has to be amazing - and Raya is far from that. Too short and mistake ridden.
Caught up with the extended highlights of the game - seems like we were extremely fortunate to only be 2-0 down and Chelsea should have killed the game off a lot earlier. It clearly wasn't a good day for the goalkeepers, as both Raya and Sanchez had absolute horror shows. I'm willing to forgive Raya to a degree for the Mudryk goal, as Mudryk overhit the cross and it looped in, but Raya's starting position was too far away from his line. Now - is that his fault or is that the manager instructing him to position himself like that? I guess we'll find out with time. However, he is a lucky boy that Palmer didn't punish him when he literally passed it straight to him and tried to round the goalkeeper instead of taking it first time. I don't know what's going on with Raya, but his recent performances are seriously concerning me. Zinchenko and Odegaard also had really poor games, lots of technical errors and poor in defensive transitions. Seems like a lot of players just were't on it at all. Obviously part of that is down to how Chelsea played, and Pochettino's tactical set up, but I do also believe we didn't perform to the level we know we can. Saliba was unlucky with the handball, and I personally don't believe incidents like that should be given as penalties - but I guess with the laws being what they are, it was always going to be given upon review. Where Chelsea got lucky was to not concede a penalty. Sanchez got away with clattering into Jesus and getting nowhere near the ball. That is as stonewall a penalty as they come. I was in disbelief they didn't even bother reviewing it in greater depth. Yet another awful call. I know Chelsea are mid table, however, they clearly have a lot of talent in their squad. I was hoping we'd win the game, but based off what I've read online and the highlights I've seen, we should be grateful for the point. That said, we had chances to win the game after getting back to 2-2. It's not an ideal result, but it's also not terrible.
