Chelsea: Cech, Ivanovic, Luiz, Terry, Cole, Ramires, Meireles, Romeu, Mata, Sturridge, Drogba. Subs: Turnbull, Lampard, Torres, Mikel, Malouda, Bosingwa, Kalou. Wolverhampton: Hennessey, Zubar, Berra, Johnson, Elokobi, Jarvis, Henry, Milijas, Ward, Edwards, Fletcher. Subs: De Vries, Craddock, Ebanks-Blake, Hammill, Doherty, Guedioura, Forde. Referee: Lee Mason (Lancashire) Thoughts/Opinions? I'm glad Romeu starts and Lampard drops to the bench, bit pissed off though that Torres don't start again, 3 games in a row now and once again it's a mixture of new and old, Romeu,Ramires,Mata and Sturridge is exactly what Torres needs not what Drogba needs. Hopeully a comfortable win anyway UTC KTBFFH
Very happy with the midfield and attack save for Torres. This is exactly the sort of game he should be starting in to aid his return to form. I really can't see why Drogba keeps getting the nod when he's been pretty poor himself last few games (goal in midweek aside). Torres is the future so we need to be building our attack around him not warming the bench. If Drogba was pulling up trees I would understand but he's only scored a couple all season himself. Don't get it. Every game Torres is on the bench is further away from him getting back to his best. If Drogba bags a brace I will gladly come back andf say I was wrong though!! Good luck Romeu.
Exactly my point, it's probably Drogbas last season and if were intent on changing the style of play then why keep playing Drogba, were reverting to two different types of play every time one of the two plays, we need to stick with one of them before everyone gets confused
Chelsea need to score a hat full of goals today so nobody over-takes us on goal difference. Was Terry's goal any good or was it a super typical header from a set-play by him?
Drogba playing well to be fair. Wolves poor but a young midfield is running them ragged. Five would be a lovely tonic!!
Drogbas ****in awful, why is avb not putting torres on, jesus christ. Hopefully man u and spurs score stay the same aswell
We bloody needed that . That for me is our best side with the exception of Drogba, you can say what you like about our defence but if the strikers aren't scoring early on in games it only puts added pressure on them and they stood strong today. Regards to Torres, only thing I can thing of is AVB wants to save him for Liverpool on Tuesday. United drew, brilliant stuff BUT we have to travel up north next weekend in a very difficult game, stick with the side put out today + Torres! KTBFFH p.s Romeu is a beast
Looking forward to watching football first later, good to see Romeu get the nod. Just been to OT watching Newcastle...good result for us
Romeu's passing was top notch again, he breaks up the play so well and fits AVB's style of play wonderfully. He's not a bad defender either! What was the noise like when that pen got given?
GTFO had a good game, held up the ball , allowed our midfield to join the attacks, WTF were you watching???
I agree, had a good game. Just because he didn't score doesn't mean he didn't . However, I'd like to have seen Torres in that particular side.
