Stumbled across this: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...helsea-set-bid-4m-Southamptons-Luke-Shaw.html Didn't City supposedly try similar last year? DTLW
It's the Fail. They get about 1 in a trillion right and that's usually after it's been officially announced
Not sure why he'd go either! He's at a PL club actively looking to introduce Academy Products to the First Team. Adkins has now called on him to train with the First Team Squad also! Surely a move to Chelsea would be a set-back? Doubt there is anything in this.
In The Guardian too: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/jul/02/chelsea-offer-southampton-luke-shaw?CMP=twt_gu
I dunno that leaning from Ashley Cole would be much of a set-back! And if we're signing this Buttner lad that puts Shaw back at #3 on our LB depth chart, doesn't it?
Would Shaw even be training with their first team? Lucas Piazon has gone there and barely had a sniff. Although I get what you say about sitting in the Academy and learning from Cole, although he is supposedly a miserable bugger.
Miserable or not, I'm sure he could teach him a fair bit. Hope Luke stays with us, though. Never seen the lad play but with all this raving reviews of him, he must have something going on.
There's absolutely no chance we'll even consider selling him, unless we get a much, much higher offer.
What is everyone basing their extremely high opinions on this guy on? I mean, people are saying offers will need to be much higher for £4m for him, yet he's never played a game - how do we know how good he is?
He's potential. It would be foolish to sell him for £4m when he, according to our coaches' opinions, could be worth much more than that.
I just hope that none of the people claiming £4m isn't nearly enough, aren't then claiming £6m is far too much for Butland.
