I think the system is fair, it takes into account performance over several seasons. Chelsea have consistently been one of the top 5 teams in Europe under RA: two pots, one final, four semis. Real three consecutive semis and had strong groups
You are a little bit special ay though London. Chelsea have been decent in Europe and would make the top 10 not sure top 5 though. Not suggesting United would either we could deff have done better
The co-efficients are a study of the past few seasons. Chelsea United Real Bayern and Barca have been the best five teams

It counts the last 5 years of competition This year we lost the points gained in reaching the 08 final and replaced them with a lower amount Our problem in maintaining a higher place has been our lack of steamrolling through to the latter stages of Europe Madrid and Barca usually win 5 out of 6 group matches and you get extra points for each win instead of a draw Technically five years is too far back a period, even the 2010 winners aren't in Europe next year. A three year coefficient would be more reasonable

If you get a higher coefficient you are seeded for CL groups and avoid playing Real Madrid, Barca etc in group stage
