This proves pretty much that education has nothing to do with intelligence, this guy is obviously highly educated, but not very intelligent.

Thing is it was his former employers that destroyed his career because of the rant and the rant was voluntarily made to a social media outlet.

Our club's only part in it was to beat the team he supports and to sing a wind up song to the feller that wound our fans up at a cup final at the millenium stadium.

Did he not do a blog along similar as well? Kinda takes the heat of the moment away from it.

I sympathise with employers. Imagine with a new client:

"We are sending you our number 1 guy!"

    "I'm from Liverpool"....

"Ah...don't suppose you'd settle for our second best guy?"

So what. Are you all that sensitive ffs? A football fan called scousers scum. Wow. I mean throw that man in jail and give him 20 to life.

Madness. I doubt it was going to impact the firm, at all. Unless they feared a scouse extremist attack? No.... I'm going with the company was looking for some free holier than thou publicity.

I meant that you would appreciate, due to your job, how people have to be careful what they put on the internet and how they behave in public, especially as it might return to bite them when they applied for a job

Oh with the generalisations again lol..thats what got him in trouble lol..

I couldn't give a stuff personally and if he's as good a solicitor as they say he is I'd hire him.

But in your sad attempts at baiting you are being incredibly naive. Almost all firms are PR sensitive. Firms that work in the insurance industry are risk adverse by nature.

They watched as one of their top employees who is supposed to be calm, intelligent and put forward a particular public image go into an emotional meltdown over a game of football and not just an immediate rant but mentally unstable enough to continue it across various mediums which was then picked up by the national media! We as fellow fans might empathise but all his employer saw was him not just going after rival fans but potentially alienating an entire citys worth of new clients.

It also called into serious question his character and judgement in his choice of line of attack. Why not just stop at attacking LFC fans? Why fall into old stereotypes and bigotry?

As I say, as a fellow fan I wouldn't have worried so much. But believe it or not; not everyone in Liverpool is a football fan.

So either try again UIR or if youre for real stay away from public media after United lose...for the sake of your job..<laugh>

Who was the celebrity? Did it revel in the fact it had got an average Joe sacked?

And what if it wasn't some celeb? Would the same have happened or was your company bowing to the power of the celeb?

And why did the celeb allow the picture to be taken? Not the wisest move really.

As for employers checking your personal accounts. Imagine they came snooping round your house, or followed you on a night our, or on holiday. Interfere with all areas of your life. They want opinion less, humourless, lifeless drones yo work for them and people are accepting it as if its hunky dory.

Is it ****. One day, someone will fight this bullshit and win. Because what right does any employer have to look into your personal beyond the legally required criminal and financial checks. They have none.

Whats to appreciate. Who are these absolute losers searching the internet for peoples private and personal opinions? Who are these sad ****s?

And so what if someone is crass on their personal Facebook page? The guy you hired instead could turn out to be a *****phile. Facebook and twitter are unlikely to help you on that front.

    Do you like being censored?

What. First. Do you think its right? Not just the chav lawyer but this whole snooping bullshit companies are doing right now.

And second, they dont care about PR for any good reason. Its to avoid the backlash from the same morons who jump on everything. Companies are afraid of the troll reaction of idiots who's lives revolve around being outraged and then trolling companies.

These companies are not protecting clients or employees, they're not doing it to be nice. They're afraid of some gimps.

Tbh it would be best if they just shut the internet down for good.

Taken from Goldberg Segalla social media policy - ''Never say anything online that you wouldn't want to be quoted as saying on the front page of the New York Times.''
