  3. Company had no choice because of the bad publicity but he'll get another job once the spotlight is off.

He won't get a partnership though, which is were the big money is. Also any clients he has may well dump him so what does he offer a new employer

  5. He could go alone. As I said, once the heat cools, he won't have a problem.

He earned 500k last year. Believe me he will not make it on his own as an international/insurance lawyer. The insurance companies use the big firms, not one man bands. He may get another job, because he must be good at what he does, but it will not be a partnership.

Also he lost it over a football match, would you trust him not to lose it when he is wound up by the opposition lawyer in a multi million pound case and he then loses the case.

It's London. He will probably have a huge mortgage and an expensive lifestyle. Any kids will be at private school, etc. He will feel it pretty quickly.

If you hold certain positions in life you have to show some restraint. You may want to say certain things, but you don't as it could affect your career if it got back to your employers or clients.

The company I work for sacked someone for putting on her facebook page that she had spoken to a famous celebrity earlier that day, and she named them. Her friends reposted it and eventually someone who was a friend of the celebrity saw it and told them about it. The celebrity complained, because quite rightly they did not want the world to know they were having to deal with us, so the employee was quite rightly dismissed for gross misconduct and breach of the Data Protection Act.

There are times when you have to be circumspect with what you say or put on the internet. Most companies now check a potential employees internet history and if you have a facebook page with little privacy settings and all you put up is foul mouthed comments and drunken pictures you seriously limit your chances of getting a decent job.

Ask RHC as he works in recruitment, when not in the Cheese.

I agree. Football fans can be stupid louts at times when talking about games . his punishment doesn't match the crime. He's probably quite nice and reasonable most of the time...

... Oh hold on hes a lawyer... He's probably always an arse.

He'll have taken home less than half that, and as has been said, as a lawyer in London he's probably got a mortgage that's in line with his earnings and other fixed expenses that mirror his statuuuus.

We're all skint at different levels mate....
