After seeing chelsea accept transfer requests for both alex and anelka, would it be a good idea for arsenal to look at both players?

Personally i don't think that it would be a bad idea, there was some interest in alex during the summer and i was quite disappointed that we did not sign him because every time that i watch him he looks like a good player and of course everyone knows about his rocket shot. Anelka would also be a good option as cover if rip gets injured and he is a different sort of striker that will get in behind the defence and especially at home when we are struggling to break a team down he would offer us a different option.

They would also come for cheap prices and i don't think that wages would be a problem, i would sign them both on a one year loan deal as anelka will be 33 in a year and alex will be 30, what does everyone else think?

Yes, I'd sign them both on short term contracts.

Don't think we'd let either go on loan.

I think both have had their transfer requests accepted. I'd offer them both a one year contract. £3m for Alex - £5m for Anelka

If it were one of the two - I'd choose Anelka over Alex

I think you need Alex more, you have a lethal front 3 already and just need to tighten your defence. Maybe if Squillaci goes Alex would be a good replacement for him.

Also, I would put a sneaky bid for Drogba in, he'd be much better than Anelka.

You don't win trophies by being cheap when it comes to cover.

Alex and Anelka are quality players - we've been saying for a few years now that we need quality cover, so these two, being available and in positions that we could do with extra numbers in - would be a good option

Put it this way i would rather have anelka over chamakh, it is too early to judge park chu young yet and i would rather have alex over squillaci and djourou. I would keep djourou but sell squillaci and arshavin and probably chamakh aswell. It's not necessarily about numbers, and i think that anelka as is alex and both would be very good players to bring in as cover.

this, Anelka is a classy Striker who would do very well at Arsenal, lets face it he is superior to both Chamakh and Park so he would make a decent second choice to Van Persie.

Drogba has already said his next contract will be for money and nothing else which has got the Russians and Arabs interested.
He would be a useful addition but I'd rather have players who want to wear the shirt, mercenaries should stick to wearing man City or Chelsea shirts...

Anelka is a disruptive influence and always has been.

Would'nt mind Alex though.

I think he would be on the bench far less than he is at Chelsea and so I dont think he would complain, also Van Persie will be given a rest some time in the season while Chamakh is also going to the ACON so Anelka would probably be playing a number of matches after Christmas.

I don’t think that is the case, he was young and naive when he first was at Arsenal and was manipulated by his brothers at the time, since then he has matured greatly and you don’t really hear anything about him disrupting a teams dressing room.

Anelka and his brothers are infamous for one thing and we know what that is. He is reaching the end and wants to leave Chelsea. It would not shock me if he has got offers from Russia, the Middle east or even MLS. I really doubt he will come to us.

He's very inconsistant, said this on the 'pool board that apparently a team in Russia or China have offered a lucrative £9m a year deal.

<laugh> I actually reckon Vermaelen would do a good job on the right or up top.
