In my morning post at work I received a lovely letter from Chelsea offering me a company hospitality pakage. These packages range from £2550 + vat up to £8100 + vat depending on wether you want to sit on the roof or wine and dine and shower with the ' Drog '. I find this really strange as I am a small independant Opticians some 35 miles from the club with no previous connection to Chelsea. I have only been once , this year , and a friend gave me a ticket (season ticket holder), so they have obviously plucked my business name and address from ...yellow pages or something. Are there not enough true fans wealthy enough or local businesses that would truly benefit this or are they really desperate to sell stuff - do they need money that badly that they are ' cold calling '? And cold calling a long way away. The tip of the iceberg is that as a sweetner they enclosed a free gift.... an emergency sewing kit....WTF !!! .. surely this is a womans gift , a gift for a woman to do emergency sewing. Is their hospitality department run by women with loose buttons and frayed hems..do they seriously think that a true man will thread the needle and then decide to spend £8000 thinking ' if this is whats to come , if this is a benchmark of the hospitality my £8000 will get me , then it is well spent? NO NO and NO.... What are they doing????? They must need funds to pay the interest on £50 mill they borrowed to buy a striker
Looks like cold calling and they really do not give a rats arse where the money comes from. I wouldn't say it was desperate of them though. Plenty of rich double glazing sales companies still cold call and they are not desperate. The tip of the iceberg is that as a sweetner they enclosed a free gift.... an emergency sewing kit Now that is plain stupid Perhaps it's the perception of their current crop of supporters
