Chelsea target £30million Franck Ribery after going cold on Luka Modric.

Chelsea have made an offer of £30m to Bayern Munich for French star Franck Ribery. Ribery will add creativity and invention in Chelsea's attack as AVB looks to recreate the use of flying wingers which won Chelsea the league title in 2004-05 under Jose Mourinho.

But Bayern Munich will not consider a deal for less than £36m. The Blues are ready to hand him a pay deal worth £10m a year.

Chelsea are determined they are not going to be left behind by Manchester United and big-spending Manchester City.

Really hope it's not true <doh>. Cup tied and well past it, with Mata here aswell Ribery will just cause people to WANT to leave and I don't really want anyone to leave at the moment with the exception maybe being Benayoun - and that's only if we get a playmaker replacement. I also would love Kalou to **** off.

I do think however several players may leave:

    - Malouda
    - Kalou
    - Benayoun
    - Alex

    With replacements being either/or:

    - Pereira
    - VDW
    - Cahill

Hopefully some kind of CM aswell as 'Arry has confirmed Modric definitely won't be leaving. Which means us having to offer absolutley ridiculous money like the Torres deal and I don't think any of us want that.

Apparently in Germany it's all over there papers and press his leaving, i was happy untill i remembered he was cup-tied, don't see the point in buying him now, we should just put a big late bid in for Sneidjer or Kaka, just so we have one world class midfielder

I do believe it's untrue. I thinks there's a list of transferrable players from Germany and he's not on it, meaning he can't be sole or something like that. Not sure though.

Not that I think there is any truth in this but...

Would he become available again in Feb for the C.L if we got out the group???? If so, I don't see a major problem.

This is a transfer that excites me to be honest but I think it's bollox. The Sun FFS...come on.

    Rubbish.

That would push him up to £200,000 a week and given JT and Lampard have clauses in their contract to enable them to be highest earners at the club that is almost impossible given that we are trying to comply with FFP and get rid of high earners.

Next they'll be saying we're after Messi, because that is as likely to happen as Ribery, we would be better off going for Robben <ok>
