Not the most reliable of sources, but saw this, which is interesting..... http://www.givemesport.com/358951-chelsea-favourites-to-sign-kyle-walker Like the article says, not really an imperative signing. Do you guys rate him?
No, he's got second rate written right through him that's why he's at Spuds. Let him rot there with all the other mis-fits
Are you constantly in your own little Spud bubble or something? He's not even that good ffs! Not all of your players are immune from being bought.
If you're buying some one to keep the bench nice and toasty, may I suggest Anderson? He would warm a much larger surface of the bench than Kyle Walker.
Last year we had one of the smallest squads in the league. You registered 4 more players than us. I guess your bench is warmer than ours.
Wouldn't totally surprise me, I suppose. Jose likes his players fast and strong, which Walker is. Last season he was poor and very error prone so I can't see clubs scrambling to sign him. Also I'm not sure Walker would want to move, there's a World Cup coming up and unless we went out an bought a new starting right back it seems a bad idea to make a move that could see him getting less game time. Definitely can't see any deal for him coming off and doubt whether there is any substance to the rumour anyway.
of course none of our players are Immune from being Bought, but like your Manager AVB is building a team he thinks will challenge for honours, you don't do that by selling established 1st team players. He knows who he want's to sell, and Walker, would not be one of them.
If you did buy him, I would expect Mourhino to move him up into midfield. I really don't rate him as a defender, but he is excellent at going forward, and he's proven that he's good at set-pieces, too (not that he'll get much of a look in with Bale heading the queue). I wouldn't want us to get rid of him, but I wouldn't be too disappointed if you paid us top wack for him.
I understood fine thanks. I was just pointing out that players have a much better chance of playing for us than they do warming our bench. It's not my fault I pointed out the flaw in your suggestion he'd just be a bench warmer as with a small squad you can't afford that.
I just implied he wasn't good enough, and that Anderson is a much better bench warmer as he's fat. You don't have to register player under 21 in the official squad listing. So the likes of Hazard, Oscar, Bertrand ect. don't count, but played a significant number of games. You just had a smaller number of players over the age of 21 than we did.
I could only see us buying him to make up the HG quota. Walker was a player I rated hugely but hasn't lived up to his promise. He's very much like a full back version of Gary Cahill, good at recovery but poor positionally. I don't see why Spurs would sell him though, least of all to us. They've invested a lot of time in him and AVB seems to what to build the team around him and players of that ilk. It would be a bad move for both clubs if Walker went from Spurs to Chelsea, in my view.
