Feeling a bit nostalgic today and was just wondering which Chelsea games will haunt you forever. Obviously Moscow and Barca 09 would be one of mine but the three which I will never forget are these... 1. I don't think I ever have or will be as disconsolate as I was after this match. To this day I still believe if we had won this game we'd have won the league. At the time Chelsea winning the league was a pipe dream so it would have been a remarkable feat to topple the Mancs and the Arsenal. Guppy's goal broke my heart as a boy, I still won't ever forgive him. 2. Another all time low. Finally we would beat Arsenal. 2-0 up with 15 minutes having outplayed them, what could go wrong? Only Chelsea could snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in this manner. 3. Again, weekend of depression. 4. As far as Premier League defeats go, this was probably the worst in my view. I remember thinking to myself when Sunderland scored the 4th goal on the 35th minute "They could get double figures". I really feared for the direction we were heading and this one hurt, never seen us ripped apart like this, ever! 5. Another day, another Arsenal debutant/newbie scores a cracker at the Bridge to deny us a win
Just when Wicksy had equalised Then two up at Orient then grabbed defeat from the jaws of success
The ones I tend to remember are the recent C.L near misses. Moscow and Barca 09 as you have said but also Ranieri's moment of madness in Monaco and Jose failing to go for it at Anfield when they beat us on pens us having won the first leg 1 - 0. We should have gone up there gone for a goal and finished it instead of playing for a nil nil. Oh and Eidur's late late miss against Pool in 05.

I refuse to accept it has being beaten by that scum I handle it by saying we were pipped at the 'post'
**** the post, if we could have shot on target it wouldn't have mattered! Anelka was the last pen as well!
Yes district, Kanu's is definitely one of my worst bastard! Agree with blue, no other game has left me feeling like I did after Moscow.
I think Barca following year was worse. Luck wasn't with us in Moscow and you just have to take it on the chin. Barca 09 was something else though...robbery of the highest order.
Know what you mean, but we were cheated. Because it was United in the CL FINAL it makes it a bit more hurtful for me. To be honest, I think if we made the final in '09 then we would've won it.
Agreed but thanks to that school boy level ref, we will never know. Uefa was happy, they avoided another all English final and their darlings Barca lifted the trophy.
I expected Barca to beat us so it didn't worry me too much, I thought we did as well as we could over the 2 legs. Even in the last minute when the commentators kept on banging on about how good we were and keeping them quiet I kept on thinking to myself "This is Chelsea, we will eventually concede" so when we did I just had my hands on my head and starting using expletives as every other CFC fan did. My friend that is an ST was so upset and incensed he refused to talk about it, I've never seen him like it.
In a way I was glad I was there so I couldn't know for sure how blatent the penalties were. It was only really the drogba one i could see was a def pen as I was at that end in the corner (upper west). I didn't realise until I had watched the highlights the following day as to how blatant the 2 hand balls were at the other end. I think I was in shock for about a week!!
I was right next to Barca fans! In Moscow I shared a room with a United fan, we put the trip on my air miles too! I had a stinking cold all trip. He burst into our hotel room at 5am and asked if I fancied a nose up... but respect to United fans they did not rub our noses in it.
I watched in in a pub with about 250 people, around 50/50 no problems after the game. I think they realised how lucky they really were. The only grief I got was on BBC's 606 where all the United plastic element congregated. I think real football fans have a certain empathy with each other.
