To be fair, I'd expect your fan-base to be larger than 'Pool's due to the simple fact that 'Pool haven't been a top club for some considerable time. Not only will it fail to attract the usual glory-hunters, but most of the plastics will have left, by now. Soon, Everton will have a bigger fan-base than 'Pool.
You are probably right. They are selling less shirts than they used too as well so it does indicate a declining older fan base.....that and a mid table mentality to go with a mid table manger and a mid table squad.
How long does it take to have "History". I mean , yesterday, is history in truth--so is there a different yardstick in football?
Of course it's considered differently. In football terms for Liverpool fans, nothing counts since the start of the Premiership and (even if it did a bit for some of their fans) it certainly doesn't count after Roman came to Chelsea. This is a stated FACT and will never apply - even in 100 years time, history should only be conisidered in terms of when Liverpool were good!
Don't you think it's funny how literally no one has brought up the issue of Chelsea having 'no history' since we won the champions league? Is that what people mean as history? I'm fairly sure we have had over 100 years in which to develop some kind of past records.
The real funny thing, for me, is that 'Pool were last a big club when Bread was on our screens. Bread, for those who never saw it, was a social-documentary programme, aired on UK screens, in the 70s and 80s, about a disfunctional bunch of Mousers (the Boswell family), who spunged off the state whilst pretending to be an upright, God-fearing, grandad-loving family. The programme highlighted the loop-holes that could be exploited in the Social Benefits system by determined low-lifes. Following the airing of that programme, the Nation's love for Mousers waned considerably, Shankley died of shame, and 'Pool went in irreversible melt-down, to the point where they were forced to employed foreign racists to play for them.
What dastardly thing is this? Tottenham and Chelsea fans agreeing?? This should be outlawed as you are supposed to be deadly enemies! I have commented on the fact on another thread that I started that Chelsea do have a considerable following in Brazil as I saw more of your club's shirts being worn by the natives there than any other Premiership side. Did not see one Arsenal shirt! I suppose that is a reflection of how far down the greasy slope they have gone since they last won a trophy. They need to do something if they want to avoid slipping into midtable mediocrity!!
I'm actually surprised at the Liverpool number, is that a recent change? You notice much more Liverpool supporters all over compared to Chelsea and Arsenal.
