    Chelsea's sanctions
A major announcement on the sanctions of Chelsea this morning and the ramifications it will have on the club and their supporters.

    Here's what it means.

    • Only season ticket holders can attend matches - no general tickets will be on sale, home or away
    • No player contracts can be renewed
    • No transfers or sales can be made
    • No sales in the club shop of merchandise
    • Club can still be sold if Abramovich allows the UK government to take control of the process
    • No proceeds from the sale benefit the Russian owner

Hopefully this will will be vetted and clarified to make more sense are they saying there is enough money in the bank to carry on? they have frozen out the revenue stream. However tv and annual monies to be paid ...above board! may be income source?
Can RA still put into trust?

I noted the Chelsea fans singing the praises of Abramovich at Burnley last weekend.

    Thought what morons they were.
Hope these fans get what they deserve.

I shed no tears for Abramovic, Chelsea or any of the other ogliarchs but I'm just the teeniest bit uncomfortable that we seem to be able to confiscate their assets simply because of their nationality. Absolutely fine if they are doing something illegal, but not simply because they are rich and their birth country's president has decided to attack the Ukraine.
If they were laundering 'dirty' money, or committing other crimes in our country then we shouldn't have waited for the war before dealing with them. If we knew that then why didn't we act before and turned a blind eye? Maybe because they were giving huge sums of money to the Conservative Party - and the Brexit campaign perhaps???...................
France didn't like the Iraq war (nor I) - but they didn't go around confiscating money, property or boats from Brits or other nationalities that embarked on it during that time.
Like I said, I shed no tears for them, but I don't like the PRINCIPLE of a state suddenly being able to take everything from an individual because of a political dispute with his/her mother nation, when they are not actively involved in or contributing to that dispute, or directly part of the government in question.
Unless I've missed something, Abramovic's 'crimes' are: He's Rich, Russian and knows/knew Putin.

I am all for kicking out the master oligarch Abramovich but what about the clubs involved with the other Ruskies, the Saudis, Chinese and will it stop with individuals or will all clubs connected with these distasteful characters be punished, just how far do we go?

We should have I agree, sometimes it takes something of this nature to force actions that should have been done years ago, we’ve probably made a killing in tax etc and didn’t want to drive them away previously.

    Uncomfortable ?

Ashton's right, of course we should have done it with Chelsea and others - the latest are Newcastle.

Abramovich has bankrolled Chelsea with dirty money. I don't get the view of woke types who pick holes in an argument that the action is late.
    So what !
The big picture is the terrifying plight of the Ukrainian people being bombed to oblivion by a vicious madman.

    What next ?
    Chemical weapons.

Uncomfortable ? It doesn't come close.

some [very few ] not all? Oligarch are "honest" .. cashed in on something that made them money ...probably did what thousands of othe rtax evaders do "off shore" the evil are the ones like Putin and his inner and close circle made money through "crime" and needed to hide it. RA, WHERE DOES HE FIT IN? NONE of us can be sure, he is rich been rich a long long time [ no matter where the interest comes from if you have £1bn simple interest of just 1.5% =£15m pa ] spend all but £5m and that is a doubling of money every 5 years! ] he takes his income from his day to day ventures! NO WAY DEFENDING ANY OF THEM... it s mostly based on the start up monies where did it come from!!!
he definetly knew and met Putin world cup etc etc etc......

late news past midnight... some interesting interviews and comparisons ...
chemical weapons... reliance on weaponry not humans .... logistics ... UKRANIANS ambushing ... 2 weapons tank busters and ground to air ... all covered with " experts in the field" [ generals etc] on the situation.
1 retired gen stated RUSSIA CANNOT WIN unless they use chemical weapons!!!!!!! their blue print is Syria chemical weapons used a lot of times. and they are building up to it with their accusatians of ukraine using them or indeed the USA. A UN motion today by RUSSIA accusing USA of chemical weapon production / use???
Piece of drone footage yesterday RUSSIAN TANK COLUMN ambushed main officer killed, 6 tanks destroyed maybe 4 or more captured and 10 turning around and speeding off ! Hope they learn have 2 ambushes let them pass then ambush, when they retreat other team ambush! or ied

Have you read about a supposed Ukranian missile that has reportedly landed by mistake in Croatia? Is this yet another false flag thrown up by the Russians to enhance the possibility of an escalation in fighting because Croatia and Serbia both have evil intent based on the pro-Russian demonstrations there in the last week? This savagery has to stop and I think the countries that are known to support the communist thug way of life, including mass murder, will become a bigger danger to world security as the situation develops and that would also include China and North Korea.

I have been tracking the activity of air traffic over the western edge of Ukraine right up to the Baltic which consists of the RAF, USAF, Italy and NATO military planes all flying strange tracks to various points in Eastern Poland or continual circuits covering vast areas of land. The NATO surveillance plane was actually shown on CNN as I was tracking it and they spotted 2 Russian migs flying out of Belarus into Ukraine on possible raids. Some of the other planes are carrying supplies to Presemyl in Poland from Ramstein in Germany, including fuel in a stratotanker, but the one that interested me most was another supposed surveillance aircraft flying at 49,000 ft which is way beyond normal flight levels at 39,000 ft. Anybody got ideas on that strange aircraft?

Clearly from the air activity going on all the way from the western outer edges of the Black Sea all the way up to Baltic States must be a sign that all activity is being monitored at a very high level and let's hope it includes the ability to detect longer range missiles as soon as they leave the ground. One mistake by the allies could bring our world tumbling down and Putin knows exactly how much he can poke at us without response and only time will tell how close we have come to fulfilling his wishes.

P.S. Please take time to watch my video suggestion that realred posted the link to in another thread when a Ukrainian choir sing their National Anthem to the crowd at the Winnipeg Jets hockey game.

    Dangerous crossroads thread.
