What is Chelseas all time greatest XI?

    This is mine:

    4-2-3-1

    GK: Cech
    RB: Harris
    CB: Desailly
    CB: Terry
    LB: Cole
    CM: Hudson
    CM: Makelele
    RAM: Zola
    CAM: Lampard
    LAM: Mata
    ST: Osgood

Subs: Bonetti, Le Saux, Carvalho, Essien, Wise, Robben, Drogba.

Had to change formation to accommodate a few players.

I'm not a fan of this "all time" thing as it is a generational thing and it depends on what era you grew up in. I never got to see Chelsea greats like Osgood, Greaves, Tambling, Cooke, Bonetti, Harris etc play so I feel it would be fruitless of me to include them, and it is too early to say Mata is the greatest Chelsea player when he has only been with us for 6 months, maybe in terms of technical ability he is but ultimately you are judged by how well you perform on the pitch.

    I'd say mine in a 4-3-3

    GK: Cudicini

    RB: Petrescu
    CB: Gullit
    CB: Terry
    LB: Le Saux

    MF: Zola
    MF: Essien
    MF: Makalele

    ST: Drogba
    ST: JFH
    ST: Gudjohnsen

So many were left out i.e Spencer, Lampard, Cech etc but I had to include the strike partnership of JFH and Gudjohnsen because those two + Cudicini between the three of them probably earnt us at least 30% of our points. Ruud Gullit was an amazing player and probably my favourite. Zola should get in any Chelsea team

Without a doubt totsfan, and Charlie Cooke too! This is why I have to agree with District Line's comments. If you've been supporting the Blues for the last 10 years, its not really difficult, to put a top squad together! If you've been going there since Greavsie's days, like I have, its impossible! Venables, Tambing, Hutchinson, Dixon, Speedie, Nevin, Desailly, Leboef, Blunstone etc, etc!! Where do you stop?
