... some sources saying that Chelsea want to give us £15 million plus Christian Atsu for Mahrez .. I've written back with a counter offer of £10 milion plus Conrad Logan for Willian ... ... well... if they are going to play silly buggers
They must be basing that offer on his last few performances, which is a great deal lol Seriously though, they can do one. 25m + Remy and maybe we can do business.
Although Mahrez has faded of late, he is a match winner on his day.... just hope that next match winning performance arrives sooner rather than later.
What I don´t get is. We are a team on the up & with ambition so why should we be selling players that MUST be in LCFC´s future plans. We need to be buying players to play along side him & to make the squad even better. If we sell a top player & bring in some one who may not suit or takes time to adapt to are style of play we´ll be going around in circles. Mahrez is young & reaching his prime, we need him now & for the next 2 or 3 seasons imo. But I guess if you get a silly offer for him, not a stupid offer like this swap deal, you´d sell I guess. I would like us to pick up some gems in the summer & really start to evolve into a prem team. Next season my aim will be top half as I think we won´t be a relegation candidate, any thing better would be nice. Then the season after that evolve abit more & so on & so on.
I know Chelsea aren't a top side currently but is it just me who thinks Mahrez isn't good enough for Europes elite just yet? I see Algerians on the LCFC FB page saying he should play for Barcelona or Real Madrid as he's too good for Leicester but although he's a top player on his day, I think he lacks the consistency (yet) to play at the top and if he's not on his game he goes missing completely whereas Vardy for example still plays for the team and if he's not scoring he's doing something useful like assists or putting pressure. I hope Mahrez can improve these traits but then he probably will be wanted by the sides I mentioned
Mahrez strikes me as being a confidence player. If his confidence is high he'll take opponents on and do his stuff. But if things start to go wrong he can be guilty of hiding. He needs to toughen up mentally. We don't expect him to pull out the magic every time, but we do want him to keep giving it a go. As long as the crowd don't get on his back I'm sure he'll come good again.
