Tommy Smith and Simon Lappin have been let go by the club. Again the right decisions but both did alright when called upon in the Championship even if Tommy was a bit slow
Yean good player who was obviously past his best. Can still do a job in the Championship I would have thought.
i suspect he's on fairly hefty wages hilts, in any case i think its the right time to move him on, he did his job which was to help get us out of the championship so best of luck to the guy….
Lappin was a very strange bit of business. As Swamp says Smith did his job, always looked like he gave 100% and good luck to him.
Good luck to both of them. Don't forget Lappin took one for the team (was it away at Barnsley on his debut?). Didn't let us down although didn't get much chance to either. I think he was an emergency signing who got to stick around a while but was overtaken as young Declan came through. Although hardly getting any game time alst season we will remember Tommy for his efforts in getting us promoted. I hope both can find new clubs soon. Are they the only 2 released? Can't see any information on City site or W0L. I would have thought there would be a few more to go or put up for transfer at least as OGS has said the squad is too big. I don't mean those who might attract bids from Prem or foreign clubs - Marshall, Caulker, Medel and Campbell.
