In respect of the modding notice re your retirement as mod - thanks for your hard work.....blah blah - thankless task etc etc - excellent balance achieved drone drone - what will we do without you and so on* Don't disappear completely mate, although I understand the temptation. Did you catch Counting Crows on "Later with...." last night? I can't work out why they need 3 guitarists, the sound isn't that big. * I have to say nice things about Roller, because he is in physical possession of my season ticket, which I may want back at some time. In reality he is a vicious, inarticulate, ignorant yob. Beth will back me up on this.
Absolutely Stan......what a yob!!!! But a tremendous mod ....he got this forum through after the sad death of Brixton, he has modded some really nasty scenarios with a fair and just hand (whatever some of you lot may think). His leaving is a tremendous loss to this board..mark my words But I hope that now Roller is no longer a mod, will allow him a freer hand to come and say what he really thinks.. Thanks so much Roller, one of the absolute best. See you at Citeh.....
What can I say? I don't want to sound self-important because I'm not important but I'm quite certain I've had a hand in his decision. Staines, Flyer, Willy and Fingy all jumping ship and leaving their reason(s) for doing so probably have played a part too. I don't know what to say. Except that I'm very fond of that bloke. I feel I (and perhaps one or two others) have driven him to distraction. I've tempered my own behaviour to a point but I can't change any further. Its just not possible. Again, the only reason I'm banging on about myself and sounding like a self-centered tw*t is because Roller's post to me last night (above) is explicit in that I've driven him mad. Along with one or two others I reckon. This is a bad situation.
Cheers Roller. The man who got me to join not606! No excuse now for not seeing the kick off's at matches. Especially after last Monday when you were on time & we won! A drink before the stupid kick off time next week?
Roll on, Rolly! I'm disappointed on two fronts..... 1. Losing someone who has done a great, thankless, and almost impossible job on keeping this rambling mess together 2. That you didn't approach me during your decision phase (Nuts, for God's sake!!??). ;-) See you at the C&S sometime, lad.
Roller wishing you a long and peaceful retirement..........I assume that you were presented with a Carriage Clock to mark this occasion if not then Stan & Beth will just have to buy you a pint instead..... I am over for the Burnley game on the 6th so we can catch up with a post match pint then, Ian my Burnley supporting mate (you met him the last time) is also coming over....... See you then.....
Not surprised by your decision Roller. There has to be a shelf-life for having to deal with some of the nonsense on here.
Roller, Thanks for all your hard work as a Mod. It was very much appreciated. Also thanks for encouraging me to join this site. I enjoy it and feel part of the family. I hope to read your comments as a Poster and look forward to seeing you in the C&S. Cheers!
Sad Roller but well understood... The weight of balancing a number of varying opinions (some well considered and balanced through to those ill-advised bordering on sheer ignorance). You know that I well understand the difficulty of the position and wish you a well deserved break from the rigours of the role. You're well regarded by me and those closest to me (here or not). I'll be in touch soon.
I've been expecting this for a while. Thanks for all your efforts roller, especially following David's untimely death. See you at the city game.
Cheers Roller. Great job in very difficult circumstances. Most people don't realise how much time this role takes. Very balanced evenhanded approach. Thanks for taking on the role mate. Don't disappear now.
Excellent job Simon See you soon at a match Thank you for your hard work and tolerance I am sure David would be very proud Good skills and please ensure you stay around regularly
This comes as a bit of a shock but I would also like to thank you so much Roller, for all the really hard work. Always the voice of reason when things got heated or people lost perspective. Please continue to post mate.
Thank you Roller for all the time and effort you have put in during your spell as mod, much appreciated.
Well can't say I blame you at all Roller, and I understand your decision totally. You and Nines have put up with far too much than you should have or needed to put up with on a football forum. At the end of the day we all support the same team, so some of the stuff has been ridiculous at times. You both have done a great job, and I hope you stick around on here. Hopefully see you at some point during/after the City game.
