So it's official now Lonners has gone to Leeds. Personnally i was a fan of his and was dissapointed at the way some so called fans gave him abuse at times. I'm also sad at the way he's been treat by the club this pre season, good luck to the lad and I hope ho goes on to prove the critics wrong. Thanks for many years of good service Andy.
Here here finneyfan... can only agree with your above comments. Lonners is going to find it very strange when he moves to another football environment, no different than anyone going to any new place of work untill things settle down. All Lonners knows is doing things the PNE way (what ever that is), so Leeds fans should allow a little time for Lonners to adjust to his new surroundings and team mates until he settles down. All the best of luck and success to a Northender through and through. I have no doubt that he will show Leeds the same loyalty as he has shown for his home Town club. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 26/07/11 So then Lonners now belongs to Leeds, a club with the genuine hope and aspiration to become a fixture in the Prem league. Leeds are not one of the smaller clubs but a club with the support to achieve their aims. I hope Lonners will help them to do just that and become a favourite with all the Leed's supporters. They have signed a very good keeper in Lonners who with the help of a good coach can reach Prem standard. It is PNE's loss and Leed's FC's gain and they have managed to sign him for a song. Lonners gave PNE 17 years loyal service making his debut at 16 years of age and gaining England undr 21 honours in the process, he was also voted player of the year two years in succession. I thank Lonners for his contribution at PNE and wish both himself and his family the very best of luck in the future. TFP
just typical of the way we are running the club right now. Who could blame Turner if he signed for them.
