Hi there Mrs La La and all,

Thought I would pop on here to say cheerio to everybody, (don't try and stop me plymborn, no don't and while you are at it, put your hanky away).

Apart from the Stoke thread, I have been popping on here (and the old 606) for getting on 3 years, and hope that I have not upset too many people.

The whole football forum scene seems to be getting out of hand nowadays, down your neck of the woods you have ATD and Pasoti, continually at each others throats, Stoke thread is inundated with people who hate our team/manager/football/city/fans - you name it.

Hope this doesn't sound too Chris Webbish - what a joker eh!! - mind you I can think of a lot of TUC Working Class Heroes who ended up in the House of Lords!! who knows??

Anyway Mrs La La, you are quite correct in one of your recent posts, the most annoying thing about peoples' opinions is that they:

Hate things that they have never read/seen or listened to
Hate places that they have never set foot upon
Hate other people that have 'done things' they have not and have a resentful hissy fit about it.
Have fixations with other people's pets

And they get on their soap boxes at every opportunity.

All the best to you lot and Argyle

    Nick

It's a shame you feel like that Nicky, compared to some of the things that have gone on in this forum and its old BBC equivalent, I can't say anything you've done has ever remotely upset me!

Well just wait until he lies about you........he had to apoligize once before or be banned.......maybe his cheerio means he's finally sodding off.

I'm sorry you see fit to leave us Nick as you go back a long way with us and you always have valid points to make - sometimes it gets too loved-up on here and we need someone to put the spanner in the works so to speak - I'm not being sarcastic here. It's always good when oposing fans decide to pay us a visit and put their points across. Maybe you will look in on us once in a while - I hope so.

Are you leaving the whole forum or just the Argyle boards? I've also considered leaving this forum in recent weeks, I've become disillusioned with various parts of it and find myself increasingly wandering elsewhere.

Wishing you well whatever you decide xx

You can't leave Mrs lalala. You were not that long ago looking to encourage people to join. I go on other sites as well but always come back to this one for a bit of friendly banter because that is all it ever is. There is a lot of tongue in a lot of cheek. I will be sorry to see oldnicky go as well. Haven't always seen eye to eye but never been that put out by anything he has posted. I don't want to see anyone who posts on here leave as the last statement applies pretty much all around. Nobody is going to agree with others all of the time but it never really gets out of hand on here unlike the other sites.

That's the point sensible, I tried to up the numbers here but it seemed to have the opposite effect, no one sticks around here for long and those that used to aren't staying (Nicky being the latest) so it's a case of "if you can't beat 'em join 'em" and I too have found myself largely wandering elsewere.

There are other things going on here also that I'm not 100% happy with which is why I used the term "disillusioned", I think that word fits.

When I say "things going on here" I mean as the general forum not necessarily the Argyle boards.

I only ever read the Argyle boards with an occasional foray into another board if something controversial has happened. Never mind the politics of anywhere else you would be missed on here if you go. That isn't creeping or being syncophantic (wow, shocked myself there with that word) it is genuine. I don't know you personally nor you me but we know each other on here and the banter between posters sometimes is quite lighthearted and funny. It seldom gets heavy and I feel I can chide you mildly if I don't agree with something you have written and vice versa. That's as it should be. You would hate PASOTI and ATD is quite agressive in it's way although much more free from censorship. There is a site to be in your face on and one to have more of a laugh on. Nothing wrong with that if that's what it is used for.

Syncophantic??? Bloody hell sensible I don't even know what that means, I'm just a simple westcoun'ry girl!

Yes I also feel like I know both you and Plym - although don't think for one minute that I don't remember you saying you wouldn't want to bump into me at HP? Hmmm remember that sensible?? Well I bloody well do!!

If you don't stray elsewhere on this forum may I suggest you keep it that way? There are some extremely unpleasant (and I'm being choice in my words here) individuals lurking elsewhere. I will say no more.

The only reason I don't want to meet anyone on here personally is because the annonymity lends to better reposts. It is nothing personal I promise but a bit of mystery is often better than reality. Well it is on my part anyway.

Are you trying to warn us sensible.........that seeing you in the flesh (with cloths of course) could be a daunting experience and change our opinion of you for ever.

    Just to demonstrate....

When I was doing a course in the RN a bloke on another course went on an aquaint visit to one of the stores spare parts distribution centre as part of his. The bloke, along with hundreds of others, had spoken to a lady on the phone many times to order stuff. She had, he said, an amazingly sexy voice so he had an image in his head of what she looked like. This is not going to be rude by the way. So, before he did his visit he phoned her and asked if she would go out for a meal with him when he visited and she agreed. When he got there and met her she turned out to be a granny and old enough to be his mum. Now, he said in the telling that she was really great company and he had a fantastic night out and a great laugh with her. I think the place was in Newcastle.

But, the point is that in the flesh so to speak people are not often what you would expect. How many times have you met somebody you have only ever spoken to at a distance and been surprised that they are not anything like you would have imagined? Not a disappointment may I add just the complete opposite. Now I happen to look a lot like Brad Pitt so I'd be ok. It is simply that sometimes it is just better not knowing and nothing personal whatsoever. I do not and never have judged anyone on appearance by the way and will speak to anyone from a lord to a tramp. But it's the mystique...........

You look like Prad Bitt more likely.............of course you can be nicely surprised that some people can be far nicer than you expect them to be.

It's good that we aren't able to put our images on the net sensible like the ladys have...........I must look out those photos I took back in 1961/2 in Aden.......bronzed Adonis that I was in those times.
