did not see this coming - i'd assumed that as he played the other week, that people were fairly confident nothing would come of it...
With a jury you just can't tell. The conviction rate on rape is low so you can be certain that there must have been a strong case.Still, looking on the bright side some jail is going to have a pretty handy football team.
err, i guess cos he didn't rape her. disgusting thing to do - good to see a rape case get a conviction - too many get away with it, or so it seems
presumably because she went back to his hotel consentually...whereas the introduction of evans wasn't consentual? don't know if arsehole quite covers it...
yeah but far be it for to say because i haven't got all the facts, but from what i have read it seems that Claton McDonald wasn't an innocent bystander in all of this. Not that i want an innocent man to go for anything, and i'm glad that Evans has been found guilty. Hopefully this will be a harsh lesson to him and fellow footballers that they are not above the law and common decency
The way the news reports are describing it, McDonald 'pulled' the girl on his way home. Although maybe not the most moral thing to do as she was so drunk, the jury probably decided that he hadn't done anything illegal. As she must have consented to go back in a cab with him to his hotel home, presuming he hadn't forced her, he hadn't actually broken any laws, even though going after a girl jut because she is very drunk is wrong! Ched Evans on the other hand just turns up at the hotel having not met the girl and given the verdict, you would have to assume had sex without her consent.
i feel a bit uncomfortable discussing this case to be honest. a conviction has been made so we have to assume that the right outcome was found. no need to discuss it further in my opinion
Sorry guys but I think we should keep it going, these people need to see what we the general public and football supporters think of behaviour like this. They get away with far too much in my opinion, and do believe they are above the law. ILD OTBC
In this case there must have been fairly substancial evidence against Evans and for McDonald to come to this outcome. based on reports, McDonald texted Evans to say he had a girl, and Evans let himself in to McDonalds room. so the question has to be asked, where the **** was McDonald at this time?
Well he has f*cked a career that was looking very promising. He has got a long time to regret it now and has only himself to blame. Unbelievable, hopefully a lesson to other would be superstars that they are not above the law.
You would have thought that professional footballers could have found willing participants easily enough. When drink gets involved peoples judgement becomes clouded. If you can't behave yourself after a couple of turpentines best to stick to the Corona.
When you earn the extreme sums of money that these young fella's do I guess they think they are above the law. I hope this sends out a clear signal that they certainly are not. On the other hand I believe in rehabilitation and so I hope that when he gets out he will be allowed to rebuild his life. Marlon King seems to have done and fair play to Birmingham in giving him a second chance.
