    Its time isn't it?

Just how consistently incompetent can a man be and still retain a position of such power and influence?

Forget Carver, McClaren and to some extent Carr ..................... Charnley is the consistently weak link in everything **** that happens. Why would you let such a buffoon lead a multi million pound operation?

Come on Ashley............ you are many, many things.................... but are you such a complete ****ing moron as to allow this farce to continue much longer?

My venom and protest would be angled at Charnley and Ashley, not McClaren and the squad. You have all seen how quickly fat Mike reacts when the name calling is thrown in his direction................. he's a sensitive soul. As for Charnley............... he doesn't look to have much of a back bone and would fold pretty quickly once pressure was directly applied, I suspect.

Aye, but to what end? I don't know what the answers are myself. It's obvious Ashley's the root cause, but as JPF pointed out he's "tried" to make some kind of amends with freeing funds. In addition, we can't get him out. Charnley, Carr and Bishop are all compliant but only through complete inexperience and ignorance. Without getting Ashley out, we can't free ourselves of the insular, circle of trust at the top of the club. So we're stuck. For me, there's only one real answer, but it's hard to get to. Whoever follows McClaren, I'd rather just forget Charnley and Ashley even exist. I think we need to purge our over-fed internet-ready minds of their existence. Once upon a time it took years to figure out owners/MD's were idiotic. Now we have Twitter. I'd rather just follow the club through ups and downs and just stop getting into the "sack him/sell the club/sack the MD" row, it's consuming and very, very tiresome. I'm fatigued from it this week far more than I should be.

Whether I will be able to, who knows. I just have this feeling that my life was richer when the highest figure I knew much about at the club was the manager.

I'd say Charnley out is just as important as McClaren out - and that both are more important than Ashley out!

Well Ashley owns the club, so he isn't going anywhere. He's already told us that. Believe me, I'm no Ashley fan boi........ but realistically he isn't leaving any time soon.

Charnley is the next man down and if you want to sit at the top table then you need to be accountable when things go sour. McClaren is as good as gone, if not now then certainly in the summer. Carr will be sacked when we are relegated and the rest have long since departed. Ashley appears to be pretty 'hands off' where NUFC is concerned nowadays so who is ****ing up with managerial appointments and transfers? Look at the farcical situation that we are seeing unfold, yet again, before our very eyes. Who is that down too? I'm sorry, but for me Charnley is an incompetent fool who needs to be put back on tea duties.

Would he be actually replaced with somebody that is any better is another matter. Id rather have Lambeezy back at the moment.................. and hes the guy that thought it was a good idea to give Pardew a mega year deal!!

We have a sporting chance of getting McClaren and Charnley out. They are employees and can easily be replaced. The owner is a different matter because he aint going nowhere, but if we pressurise him he will almost certainly deflect that onto the other two clowns. Mike doesn't like it up 'im.

    I despise him.
He seems a mute and is totally out of his depth.
He was good at closing contract out before he got promoted but his current position is way, way beyond him.
I think I could genuinely do a better job and intend to put my CV in.

If Charnley actually pulls this benitez deal off as a general manager and scraps Carr and we manage to stay up along with all the signings we have made this year, would anyone take it a bit easier on him?

I dont like him at all, i dont like his whole provado, but it has been confirmed in the daily mail that he is the second cheapest Managing Director in the prem, earning just over £100k a year, compared to the likes of Woodward who gets 2.5m

    http://www.themag.co.uk/2016/03/wha...er-19-premier-league-chiefs-newcastle-united/ - See table attached.

However should we stay up and end up being involved in further investment, i would go a hell of a lot easier on Charnley, the board and Ashley.

You gets what you pays for...(at least up to a reasonable figure, until it goes into...foolish, Keeping points scoring, type money)

So, no, I wouldn't go easier on him for ..eventually ..doing the job he is paid for (after 2 years of youth training scheme Managing Director error strewn incompetent style. Plus eventually the most incompetent fool ..gets lucky and makes the right decision, every now and again)

The man is a liability at best, and ridiculously out of his depth in all ways, at worse.

He's not exactly covering himself in glory in the way this shambles is being handled, even if he does pull this off.

What Penfold gets paid is of no consequence. If he was doing the job for nothing , but was still the steaming pile of dog turd that he is, I would still want him out.

If he does, by some miracle, pull off the Rafa appointment then it will almost certainly be by luck than judgement. Look at the farcical way that this is all being played out now. Penfold is far too busy trying to play 'the big I am' when dealing with others and always seems to get caught short. Ashley had to step into the Townshend deal because clearly Levy was running rings around chubbs. Ashley will almost certainly have to step in here to secure the Spanish waiters signature because Penfold will risk blowing the whole deal when he talks to Rafa face to face and he suddenly realises that our MD is a complete twat.

Proper, bona-fide football men can sniff out a complete chancer like Penfold in 30 seconds flat. The reason he survives under Ashley....................... he's cheap and Ashley knows the square route of **** all about football. Would he hold a vaguely similar position at any other club in the PL or Championship? Not a ****ing chance. Blyth Spartans wouldn't want the fat little **** running the show for them. They wouldn't want the cake bill for a start.
