It seems that Bowyer, Gallen and Jackson are working their magic again. I’m sure there will be inevitable departures but I have every faith in the staff putting together a competitive team next season. Baffled as to how we can make these signings though.
13th August update; Striker Conor Washington (28) has joined Charlton on a 2 year deal from Hearts (undisclosed fee)
This one makes more sense, in that regardless of it saying undisclosed fee, from what I’ve read Hearts wanted him off the wage bill so I’m not certain a fee is actually involved. Quick striker from what I know, doesn’t seem to score much but maybe that’ll change. 2 positives deals in my opinion
When Kermit joined us people said that he didn't score much... SCP soon changed that... and now we have Lord Bowyer to fix things....Grover has skills (PS anybody who does not know who Grover Washington is... should feel ashamed)
Another reason to feel ashamed! Just what I needed Only joshing. I value my ignorance, as it seems to be an inexhaustible resource...
2nd September update: Tom Lockyer officially left recently. EDIT: Apologies Smudger (and everyone else) My news that Doughty has signed until 2022 was premature. A mistake on my part. I've re-set the table to the way it was before...
9th September update: Dylan Levitt (19) joins Charlton Athletic on a season-long loan from Manchester United www.cafc.co.uk/news/view/5f578ee0ed6c6/done-deal-charlton-sign-dylan-levitt-on-loan-from-manchester-united
I see him as an extra body to give us some depth. An armchair Manyoo fan I work with told me he is ****.
Nicky Butt may have been buttering Lee Bowyer's bread a bit then. According to Butt, Levitt is the best passer of the ball United have in his age group.
25th September update; Ben Watson (35) joins Charlton Athletic on a one year contract, with a one year extension option. Watson was a free agent after leaving Nottingham Forest in the summer. www.cafc.co.uk/news/view/5f6e0763b9660/done-deal-ben-watson-becomes-first-signing-sandgaard-era
Cracking signing, I reckon there will be more of this calibre to follow. Tommy Sandgaard's red n white army
26th September update; Defender Akin Famewo (21) signs for Charlton Athletic on a season long loan from Norwich City www.cafc.co.uk/news/view/5f6e6de04b5f8/done-deal-two-signings-in-two-days-as-akin-famewo-joins-the-addicks-on-loan Our second signing since Thomas Sandgaard took over the Club...
1st October update; Attacking Midfielder Marcus Maddison (27) joins Charlton as a free agent, after leaving Peterborough United in the summer. Maddison has signed for 1 year, with a further year optional extension. www.cafc.co.uk/news/view/5f75f2f555669/done-deal-marcus-maddison-arrives-at-the-valley
